Didn't help with some injuries he's had this year including his "fractured skull" as he called it. The interviewers (who are so hopeless) asked him how much he's learned from playing with Jared and Lindsay as if he was some young guy and he sought of pulled her up and said" I have played the game for a while, and I know how to play" Last year I reckon he was just about the best prop in the comp at times. He also said that Junior Pauga could only be selected for first grade from last weekend, because of the development contract he's on, but he's been killing it at training and was always going to be selected as soon as he was eligible.

I like Lodge and I hope things somehow turn and he stays.

So interesting, all those posters saying Robbo was too stubborn in not picking Pauga sooner. Goes to show you’re not always aware of all the facts when you’re on the outside.

I agree with you mate when Spencer Leniu was signed it appeared to be a direct replacement for Jarred who most thought was going to retire at seasons end. I hope that jarred is on a reduced deal as a player with some cushy post career employment to subsidise, you’re not allowed to be every club does it anyway.

I’m all for re-signing JWH, club legend and when he is fit and on the field he is a beast. But if you re-sign you need contingencies in place for when he is injured so losing Fletcher hurts but if we lose Whyte too that’d be an absolute dagger. I was never confident in retaining Lodge salary cap wise..

I am sorry to see Baker go, I have little confidence in out recruitment and retention policy. Some decisions over the last few years have been very questionable.

JWH had to be retained for 1 more season no matter the coin he is getting

IMO the club is void of leaders let alone if Jarred left.

I honestly believe if he left next year would be worse than this year

I think the next few years will not be great ones. , our roster is deteriorating, none are as good as they were. and we don't have any stars coming through.
Plus we seem determined to persist with average or even below average players.
Our recruitment and retention is poor.
Players going down.... Teddy, Toops, Manu, Keary, Crighton, JWH, Radley????..... all still good, but their best is behind them.
Players with upside.... Suaalii... if he stays for 24, Walker, if we keep him, Sitili, Billy Smith , if he stays fit, Cheese, if he gets his shiit sorted, Brown ..if, May... if. Whyte ??
Average..... the Butchers, Turpin, Allen, Paulo, Momi, Watson,
              and .... the Handbrake.
Losses, Baker, Lodge... maybe Suaalii and Walker ??
              Gains, Leniu, and 2 wingers.

Yep, not too much to look forward to at this stage next year. A couple of signings could change this so lets hope Nick delivers

So Joey Manu who turns 27 later this month has his best football behind him as does Angus Crichton who is 27 years old. These people who believe stuff like this think they know better than a 3 time premiership winning NRL coach.

Both Manu and Crighton have been underwhelming this season. Crighton USED to be an Origin player, so yes his best is behind him, Manu is a failure at 5/8.

Once Manu gets back to centre, or even fullback, he will be sweet

I'm not so sure about Angus, he looks terrible at the moment.

Mate Angus was killing it last year and was playing for Australia before he had his issues. I agree he is way off the pace but I don't think he is finished. Manu needs to get back to the centres asap.

Not sure how you thought that. Gus had an absolute bludger of a year last year Voo mun. You only have to go back to some threads and posts to see the angst on the pen forum.

He has been so inconsistent for a number of years.

Spencer with JWH and Collins 2024... Still need 2 more quality middles rolling in for 2025!

He hasn't done much since his good spell late 2020 when he was playing as a middle forward.

Whilst he was good last year. We need to give the younger players like Whyte an opportunity, we invest money and time into these players only to see them go to another club and become stars . Let lodge go , we will be ok.
