All the best to young Fletcher Baker I would have liked to have seen him stay but signing Spender Leniu probably spelled the end for him. The Broncos have some quality young forwards so they clearly see something in young Fletcher.

Bar Collins and JWH I wouldn’t be bending over backwards to keep the rest of our forwards. They all have really underperformed for a number of seasons. Zero consistency.

I had hoped Gus and Sitili would hit the ground running but its been weeks now and they have been mediocre. Gus in particular had a stinker last week against the dogs.

I must say losing Lodge and Baker is a bit of a worry, even with the addition of Leniu and the JWH extension..

Losing Siua Taukeiaho and Isaac Liu still hurts a little and now these two guys are going..

Hopefully the Club has an ace up their sleeve..

Yep. And it means we are stuck with the Butcher brothers in the second row.

We would have one of the most lacklustre edge pairing in the NRL. Virtually every team has at least one damaging ball runner out there except us.

Far cry from the days of Cordner and co Vas mun. Our backrow has been ineffective and inconsistent for years.

The Butcher Bros.....sounds like a relic from the World Championship Wrestling days.

Too many white backrowers and not enough Whytes.

Get what you mean, but I don't think Baker's of the same calibre. Meanwhile we've picked up Leniu and Brown, who are both performing.

I feel as though Lodge has had 1/2 a season to play himself into a contract. However he hasn't and this (amongst many other things) adds to where we're sitting on the table right now. He's one of a few guys that SHOULD have played themselves into the conversation about Origin selections (Pangai Jnr played Origin!!! Lodge totally coulda been called up if he was killing it).

IMO a complete clean-out of our coach/roster is loonie bin BS. However, it's good timing for a gradual phasing out of our non-performing assets.

“I was probably under the assumption that I was going to stay longer when I did that, and we did speak about that, but the situation changed.”
He wasn't bitter at all in the interview. The guys speaks well and he's a lot smarter than maybe he gets the credit for. Says Robbo was apologetic when telling him no deal for next year. Jared staying which Lodge was more than respectful of. Obviously Lodge wants to get back on the big money, we've gotten him for a steal for a season and a half, of course he'll move on. Didn't help with some injuries he's had this year including his "fractured skull" as he called it. The interviewers (who are so hopeless) asked him how much he's learned from playing with Jared and Lindsay as if he was some young guy and he sought of pulled her up and said" I have played the game for a while, and I know how to play" Last year I reckon he was just about the best prop in the comp at times. He also said that Junior Pauga could only be selected for first grade from last weekend, because of the development contract he's on, but he's been killing it at training and was always going to be selected as soon as he was eligible.

I like Lodge and I hope things somehow turn and he stays.

I’d say this and well as Lodge is the price of indulging JWH. Let’s see where we are in two years as a result. Jazz is a legend but should have gone this season.

Agree, thought he handled himself well after watching the interview. Shows how things can get taken out of context.

Yep, it could be a very costly move. Club legend, but he’s becoming injury prone and doesn’t have the punch he once had…….in saying that I absolutely love him. We won’t know if he’s gone year too long until next year.

Who knows why the coach can’t see that; it’s not as if we don’t have some choice ATM.
