Every player deserves criticism if they are not up to 1st grade standard.

He is a 1st grade rugby league player and I am a member and a fan who pours my hard earned into the game.
If he wants to play professional sport than he should expect some fair criticism along the way, it comes with the territory.

Look at Teddy after origin, he copped what many would say as fair criticism but most of us would say unfair.

Facts are he may help cover injuries etc but we won’t miss him if he goes.

And before queen Sally chimes in with “how many NRL games have you played” blah blah blah. I clearly concede he is a decent league player and definitely better than me but just because he plays professional sport doesn’t make him immune to criticism.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, this isn’t North Korea.

There would be millions of folk who don't even follow the game or any club whose money would prop up the game too in some way shape or form by being a consumer of the various sponsors products.

It’s not about the criticism itself but that the particular “criticism” seen on this website is low calibre and rarely makes any sense it’s just fans with no idea throwing out insults with the odd cliche and that’s it.

I think that’s very unfair he’s certainly busted a gut for the club he’s bled for the club and been sent to hospital with serious injury for the club. He’s not as talented as Brad Fittler but not every one is a superstar and when our squad is fully healthy he’s not in the 17 but he’s also not the reason for our troubles.

I had forgotten about him being sent to hospital after Brown came in with his knees, you are right he does deserve credit for what he endured for the club on that one.

I see what SKS is saying but Hutch was a victim, not a hero.

The criticism of Drew Hutchison is excessive and over the top he isn’t the greatest player but he’s a halfback who’s been asked to play out of position at centre and hooker and has done his best every game. He played well for us when Luke Keary was injured and deserves more respect.

Every club needs a Hutch in their 30 contracted list. We may not rate him as 1 - 13 player, but hay.
