Things we learned.
Keary is not a halfback
Manu is not a 5/8
The Butchers lack attacking spark they are not starting backrowers.
Hutch is not a centre, or a half or a 14 or an new Aubo.
Turpin is not a starting hooker
Teddy is not able to lead this group.
We lack enthusiasm, speed, power, determination.
They don't need a cuddle, they need to harden the fukk up.

Hahaha all g - nothing wrong with smashing the beers and going on a rant.

That said, I'm glad that I switched off during the Riff's try scoring frenzy in the 2nd half. Told my wife it's over, turned on some romantic Italian movies and we went from there. Much more pleasant than watching a team that's simply not in the game.

My only real frustration is that we don't even compete. I'd be happy if we were a shyte team that at least brought some fight and ticker to the game. However, but for the odd consolation try, we're giving the opposition (Pemriff or otherwise) nothing to worry about).

Down 4-0 with ~5 left in the first half, you can tell Robbo's told us to focus on the Bongdi Wall TM. However, what we REALLY needed was to score a couple of meaties and have Cleary yelling 'FFS boys WTF?!???? You know they are ruthless and can score from anywhere and we need to tighten up our defence!!!!' at half time. Instead he basically said 'I know they are shyte but don't disrespect them... finish the job!!!' That's just about the worst insult we can cop because it shows where we're at (and it's even worse because the truth is the worst insult). It's not even Robbo, it's all of us. Sigh. So sad as we SHOULD be so much better with this squad.

Glad I enjoyed my night with the wife, the homebrew's going sweet and I had a quality 30km trail run in the morning coz the footy's a bust this season. Gonna keep watching coz I'm an Easts fan and am sure we'll have a few wins here and there (hopefully still get some finals footy in 2023). It's sad seeing such a promising season go so badly though. That's all I've got for ya this week... not even angry, just sad.

This coach loves learning. The irony is that we had learned exactly the same things much earlier in the year but didn’t change a farking thing. We still wheel out Kerry in 7, Manu at 6, Hutch in the centres, Butchers in the 2nd row when we clearly have better choices. The stupid decisions of the coach appear to have affected the confidence of the whole team; they’ve stopped giving a shit.
