  • What has been Coach Smiths gravest error with Easts?

I think it was his decision to play Lopini Peae (sp) in the 2010 GF. The player in question did not feature in first grade all year and then gets picked in the big one and let us down badly. I don't blame the player. I blame the coach.

What other examples of our coach's stupidity and arrogance can you come up with?

Dropping Kouparitsas. he was an intergral part of getting us there and he was dropped for the big one. Travesty.

He should of walked out on the club during the whole Todd carney debacle. He should of realised it was either Todd or himself to leave and Todd was the one who could of taken us into the future. Now we are stuck in smiths rut.
            I said it.

What I dont get is, Smith wanted to re-sign him this year, but 2 years ago after we made the GF apparently Smith didnt want to re-sign him. Where the hell is the logic in all this ?!

Two years ago we had the best player in teh world, and a more senior squad. This year we have Anasta and Mini who should be retiring and a bunch of directionless kids.

Agreed that was a silly move.

BJ also cost us dearly in that game. Whilst I understand why BJ played in the grand final, I have never understood why in 2011 BJ was first pick on the wing ahead of much faster players such as Graham and Linnett.

It all depends on who you believe and who is pushing what agenda IMO.

Many on this site claim what they read in newspapers or on forums as fact. Then that so-called fact becomes fact cos everyone believes it.

Some do get the sniff of a happening early, occasionally, and usually they are viewed as being "in the know". But usually they just get fed what we all will eventually suspect or find out anyway.

Often in footy, like in all such organizations, where there's smoke there's fire. Many times these fires don't eventuate.

We only come here to try and get the jump on others. So do the newspaper blokes and the mag blokes. Often rumors spread on these pages are repeated basically word for word out in media land.

There is no secret phone to Uncle Nick. Seriously who in their right mind would be lucky enough to truly get all the inside info and pass it all on to us loonys on a public forum??? Those clowns wouldn't stay in the loop too long.

There are a few who do know some of the coaching staff and sometimes hear stuff. But again what's done upstairs and fed to staff is often what upstairs wants let out.

As for players having any inside knowledge, they are usually the last to know what's actually going on. Those who know a lower grader or 1st grader often get the worst info available. Especially with this Twatter shit available today.

I've personally been told the Smiff-Bwaiff love-hate story on a few occasions, by a few people who I trust think they know, and each re-telling varies widely from the other.

It's the fun of the forums IMO, sorting the steamers from the turds.

                      You know it makes sense.

                        thats easy.

only one thing happens if you get offside with players.

                          It's like politics.
Your staff/media/fans etc can be your friends or enemies. OR both.

My old man had a great saying:

Firstly, coming here, then not leaving, after an inept period of coaching.

Biggest errors so far are LETTING GO OF kane linnett, HAVING justin cannonball carney, maubs to centre and not trialing enough juniors. And of course persisting with braith at 5/8 instead of antmitch or morts
