    Good news.

He has been good for us when he has played in the centres this year. He will be even better when he is used as a back rower in the future.

I'm staggered that anyone thinks this is good news.

He's consistently under produced for two years.

Too slow for wing and unremarkable in the centres (where I thought he'd go well).

God knows why everyone seems to think he'll shine in the backrow. He can't tackle and he can't hold onto the ball.

Aside from us not having the balls to stick by Todd Carney, BJ's been the biggest disappointment of the last two seasons.

He's well overdue for some form. I can't remember him stringing two good games together. I don't think he ever has.

We have a 73% winning percentage when BJ starts in the centres. The figure is a low 33% when he played on the wing.

I'd say a lot of people are on the mark, when they nominate BJ to shine close to the ruck.

BTW we are 2 from 2 with BJ in the backrow.

I want to see him get good service from his inside men before I write him off.

              Good point.

His stats are near identical to SKD, including line breaks. SKD is ahead of him on tries, however plays outside Pearce and Maubs(who is the leading linebreaker for our team).

BJ is outside Anasta who could not buy a line break or a line-break-assist, even with all the money he has taken from us over the years.

Give BJ some decent service and play him as centre, with a decent winger outside him and we will see how good he can be. Put him in the backrow with 5 kgs on his frame and he will be a rep player.

backrow and lock. he is only 21 this year with a gf, city country jumper already under his belt. pretty sure he was in the NZ train-on squad at some stage as well

While I am down on Brian Smith as a coach and shant stop ripping till I do get buckled, I think he is a good man manager. Perhaps that is his role, as football/player manager (not as in the one who makes deals) to provide pastoral care to the footballers, like B.J., that will be being coached by Daniel Anderson (hopefully)
I could be talking through my fundamental orifice and will accept constructive criticism.
Brian Smith has good experience but wrecks clubs and wastes talent.
Now if you praise him again ill make you more of an endangered species than the Tasmanian devil Brocolli brain.
Hopefully we get a British coach or Hagan/Stuart/Meninga/Anderson/Stone/Dymock
Don't praise Smith again you got that, Caveman?

Hopefully we'll see him get some good ball today so we can see what he can do.

Interesting how some people on this site a few weeks back. not rate this guy BJ Leilua but watching city and country right now, he is probably the best defender out of the whole city team. He's putting on some one on one big tackles so far. I think he is a star in the future, resigned it's a good idea.

The Australian coach rates him, nearly plucked him out of our ranks,I agree with you,I'm very happy to see him stay,as for the others...empty tins make lots of noise.
