  • Roosters 2025 young gun team

This is just a bit of fun but wanted to list a young gun team for 2025. There are some older names who are obvious picks :

    Teddy
    Lewis Murphy
    Robert Toia
    Manu
    Dominic Young
    Walker
    Sandon Smith
    Collins
    Moriarty
    Leniu
    Wong
    Whyte
    Radley

    Tupouniua
    E Butcher
    Watisoni Waqanisarvi
    Va’a

I suspect Cassius tia who is playing for sg ball and jersey flegg at 5/8 will be there. Probably will see him make a move to the edge soon, he’s huge. Zach Fittler will also be there if he stays. Ethan roberts is also a gun. 18 and already training with the first team by my understanding. Also turned down the vermin so extra credit for him there

I’ll throw my 20c worth in there, 2x Va’a will be in there somewhere… with the right guidance & a bit of luck… they’ll earn their crust. Proud Uncle.

Isn't there a giant young dude in our lower grades that played for Lebanon?

I can't remember/pronounce his name - he looked the goods.
Formerly Stringaz, from the old Wall!

Talking about young guns,I remember we had 2 of them in Josh Curran and Luca Morretti..

Unfortunately one is starring for the Warriors and the other is looking good at Parra!

Hopefully we can keep the good up and comers and not lose them because we have average players currently taking up spots in our forward pack!

There’s also young Steep & Foketi… both with a lot of promise as backrowers… there’s plenty of good stock coming through… but eventually managing, juggling an nrl roster at the top end is the key… good luck trying to keep all these talents as they mature…

Curran was stuck behind Cordner, Crichton and Tupouniua when he asked for a release.

He's one in hindsight I would've loved to have seen us keep but was a victim of our success at the time.

He's 25? Might eventually break into first grade like Pauga, thought he was younger.

He's also not that big. About the same size as Nathan Brown.

Would love to know why he was let go.

Does he want to come back?

I would take him over the Butcher bros any day,and that’s just based on what I’ve seen of him at the Warriors..

I never saw much of him in the lower grades, but heard plenty of big wraps!
