  • Well we are hard pressed to get one thats for sure.

On another note, you don't get to hear from the big dog much, so it was nice to see him give his 2 bob in the presser today.

Like toops, aging like a fine wine. Fittler attracted me to the chooks along with mum being a supporter, Mini my fave of all time.

And with the caliber of players we've had over the years it's too hard to have a favorite these days.

Jazza is right up there though, best forward since Artie imo.
Formerly Stringaz, from the old Wall!

    • Good win. Held on well. Some flashes of quality in attack to give us a little bit of hope going forward.

Shame about Kez but S Smith looks good

      • Good speed leg drive runs..better defensive technique...half the usual errors but still a bit high..our plays were obviously better with keary dictating play.
Sandom Smith was real good.Cant complain losing 2 top players first half.

        • I went to the game. I thought the Roosters were going to put on a real show in the second half - wasn't to be. Very happy to win thou. But after watching them live - I see why other better teams carve them up. Anyway let's see what they dish up next week. Whyte is good. Ponga live is a beautiful mover. GO ROOSTERS.

joey obviously great - might be an idea to play teddy at 5/8 and him at fb with luke out for a while. a touch of class in everything toops did. nat butch strong. and a big should out to jake turpin 50+ tackles and not a miss. he's a real tryer that bloke.
Don't give Robbo and ideas. Just stick to selecting the players in their preferred positions for a change please.

            • The Joey Manu try up the middle. You kind of saw that coming in the play but if I recall correctly they never did it again. Why? Also in the grind in the last 20 mins it was all one off stuff up the middle. Surely that’s how they wanted to play it. You know you have to earn the right to go around them after going through them. But surely if the d is in the middle doesnot that create gaps on the edges for easy metres?

              Still proud of the win.

              • Can you elaborate on this. I go to all the home games and you often get a different impression than three TV.

what aspects do we need to improve?

i was there live....defensive line was terrible, any decent team would of put 40 on them

Ponga the only player threatening for the knights luckily

Talk was non existent...there is no leaders

                  • Nice to get the win and our scramble defence was a lot better than it has been. I really enjoyed the game from the viewpoint that Atkins stayed out of it and the ball was in play a lot and let the players decide it.
Very happy with Whyte up front and Sandon Smith showed plenty of promise.
We made it tough on ourselves with a couple of poor last play options when the playmakers should have just kicked it high and deep.
Bad luck for Keary and will be interesting to see who the halves pairing will be going forward.

                          Cheers Rooster Booster.

We were terrible in the second half - didn't look like scoring. It felt like the Knights would snatch it.

What do we need to improve on ? 1. Our edge defense. 2. And throwing numbers at the opposition when we are in good attacking areas (which also means straighten up and run direct).

                          Anyway, GREAT to win.

                          • Manu at fullback was huge over 300mtr - new this wouldkick start his season! He needs to be back at centre and not 6 next week, and start roaming
Tupou - nearly 300mtr was massive as well

in the forward nat butch best game to date
Whyte was massive and showed why he deserves to be in the 17 - reminds me so much of sst
angus had his best game back to date, looks like he cares - hopefully he can go back so edge soon

without keary and Sitili not coming back a big win

was lodge dropped or injured as not named in res. Which you think he would have played if dropped?

Yeah I thought there was solid value in having a no frills hooker/halves who all seemed to be on the lookout for a good opportunity to feed some ball to Manu.

Hate to say it but it's almost as if less is more. We also shouldn't downplay the fact we were missing Collins, Cheese, Rads, Keary and Lodge against a team that had Ponga and Gagai.

Still not overly impressed by our second half but all I wanted was us to be in the contest!!! The Knights have had some form lately and NEEDED this win (in front of ~25,000 at home). It's a low bar but IMO being good enough to spoil their party by 2 points showed something that's very important... CHARACTER!
