Apparently he's matured, now he's learnt to deal with his child's affliction and all the inherent pressures regarding it.
I'm reserving judgment. He did train this club to it's only premiership in living memory.
If Todd was here too...I salivate at the thoughts of a Ricky Stuart trained Roosters with Carney and Maloney in the halves.

Too many times have I heard fatty vaughtin's love child from the 70's, make up bullshit and feed it to people.
If you honestly believe the rumor itself and that Weidler is actually in the know, then I might as well get Darryl Brohman to wear a red suit and tell you guys that santa clause is coming to town. Reporter's these days, especially news hound like Weidler, make their money like fortune tellers do. "Making a educated guess from any whiff of info". Even if 1 out of 10 guesses are right , then suddenly they are viewed as geniuses.
How many times do we hear of a player movement and only seconds later the associated club or player to deny it. Many friends of mine went into journalism and they told me pretty much what I have just told you.
As for the rumor itself Ricky Stuart must not return to this club. As much as it hurts me to say this , I'd even prefer smith stay as coach.
Stuart's time at our club can be summed up into 2 phrases:
1. "right man, at the right place, at the right time".
2."Fed off an already established team from G.Murray's good work"
When Stuart arrived most of our players were already half way into their careers or further even. After 04' when the times got tough he folded.
Whether you want to say he invested in the wrong players or not is up to you.
He then went and screwed up an already screwed club in cronulla. Got rid of players like Kimmorley, de gois , dykes etc. all of whom went on to have great seasons at other clubs. All his players purchased were shit. And he left the club in an embattle position. Our club is not even close to being the almost finished product the 02 side was. I'm not sure if he has entirely proven himself at origin level either.
I say this as a rooster fan who loves his club and wants to see them do well. I think 3 games a year for stuart to coach is more than enough.
I will really miss this forum as I'll be gone for a while. Go the mighty easts!Last edited by Rooster2013; 04-22-2012, 05:33 PM.

I don't think his style was/is sustainable over a long period of time. But for the short-med term, in a limited coaching capacity, with a more matured outlook, I have a feeling things could be different.
Certainly he's a hard bastard, and Easts are the softest I've seen them for some time.
I'm backing this. True or not.

I would prefer to go with Craig Bellamy. However i won't be against getting Stuart provided that he is given very good assistant coaches to help him out. When Stuart made 3 GF's in a row with us he had a great assistant coaching staff to support him. He certainly will need great assistance with our attack as that has been an area that Stuart has struggled with in the past. Dean Pay would fantastic to have as our defense coach. Possibly Matthew Johns for attack. The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Here's looking at you, kid.
