Yes all this talk about jac needing to play and should have last year, he scored tries in World Cup against a lot of average opposition and a team dominating
he has pace and that’s it
does not have good defence. Aerial ability in attack and defence and also mtrs coming off their end like Brian too or tupou
inless the game is set up and in his favour he isn’t that great
Qld just have a bug brutal forward pack and fast backline
NSW look like the roosters this year, like they don’t know each other
54% possession and 4 times the tackles in the opposition 20 to score 1 try
NSW favourites and only won one of the last 4 series now, Freddy has no idea on coaching

I’m a QLD fan but I expected more from a supposedly more hungry Blues outfit? That was a poor game by Origin standards regardless the score. NSW capitulated. Even worse was the poor standard of officiating by company man Klein & co, …carrying on with the PVL circus… play on…

I think Freddy is done as a coach.. some strange selections & decisions.
Obviously putting Cooky into the centres was the main one but why not start Martin? Surely Murray had to get on before half time? Is Stefano worth a bench spot to play 14mins? I think the other forwards could’ve covered those minutes and he could’ve carried Burton on the bench. I know it sounds hindsight hero but I’ve been saying it since the teams were selected cause you just knew an outside back would go down.
All in all, I don’t know if this makes a difference. The lack of urgency and inability to compete on every single play stood out to me. I don’t know if this can be coached into them or not. Maybe it’s psychological baggage from a lot of these guys growing up and watching the 8 in a row. But QLD just looked hungrier.
Tbh I found myself cheering for Teddy & the blues at stages because I hate a dead rubber but the attack was so so clunky and ineffective. Oh well, I hope Teddy uses this to come back to club land and go on absolute tear.
Rant over.Last edited by Qld Chook; 06-22-2023, 09:06 AM.
