  • Games lost to injury this season

Just wanted to get a grasp on exactly how much injuries have impacted this team so far this season and digging in 75 games have been lost from players considered to be part of the preseason strongest 17, basically it means on average this season nearly 5 players out of the best 17 have missed every week, this doesn't include the insane volume of players injured during matches and being unable to return to the field.

Below in brackets is the amount of games missed this season includes injury and suspensions
    1. Teddy (2)
    2. Toups (5)
    3. Smith (9)
    4. Manu (3)
    5. Suaalii (3)
    6. Keary (0)
    7. Walker (6 didn't include the weeks he played in NSW Cup before getting injured)
    8. Collins (1)
    9. Smith (4)
    10. JWH (4)
    11. Crichton (6)
    12. Tupouniua (7)
    13. Radley (4)
    14. Watson (15)
    15. E. Butcher (1)
    16. N. Butcher (2)
    17. Lodge (3 this is the number he missed before falling out of favour and being granted his release)

I don't think it's all "bad luck" and "part of the game".

Something is not right with the way the players are conditioned. There seem to be a high number that are injured during training.

It's all Robbo's fault and how hard he trains them FFS.

We have enormous depth in the forwards this year. You cannot blame that. When the coach has been playing our backline out of position you cannot blame those injuries either.

We perhaps got unlucky with Walker's injury dragging on our pain of Manu in the halves. But even that was a self-inflicted wound.

I wonder how that list compares to all the other clubs.

Their were times during the year when we had most of our players on deck, and then master coach decides to play players out of position Ffs!

Like I said back then, when we are having a fair run with injuries we need to make the most of it and win as many games as possible..
Not experiment with players positions when you’ve had all off-season to do that.

Whichever way you look at it,this years failures are on Robinson!

It’s been carnage again, for sure.

We went in well short of full strength against Raiders and then lost a bunch too. It’s frustrating to watch.

But we have had too much bad luck for it not to be something more systemic - possibly our style of footy is a contributor. We seem to have poor discipline/ low possession and our effort under fatigue and constant pressure puts us in vulnerable positions. Our halves are also not managing games well and pinning teams in their end so our power game isn’t as effective and we end up bashing ourselves/ getting bashed in the process. Then the injuries mean less experienced players get brought in or players get moved out of position and it makes matters worse - the desperation and effort goes up but so does the risk… feels like a vicious cycle we haven’t been able to break.

Or Maybe I’m going mad from watching the same story on repeat the last few seasons.
