Got a similar dude at work who reads The Australian religiously and calls everything he disagrees with 'woke'. Simultaneously he'll tell me that Trump's got a bad reputation purely because the media's unfair to him (and is all left-wing biased...etc).

He's otherwise a decent chap but you've gotta start grinning, saying a cheeky 'oh really?' and finding distractions when the 'woke' rants start coming. I suspect old mate requires similar treatment.

It’s a major false equivalency to draw a parallel between someone who posts about the club (which is extremely topical at the moment) and someone who posts long winded posts about themselves for no reason

Quite the opposite... he said our attack's close but the timing's slightly off on some of the execution.

So we’re close and it’s round 18!!! What did they do in the off season? Why other teams are off and running whilst we’re getting close? The cowboys started the year crap until we played them back into form. Parramatta lost few opening games but got their house in order and humming along. Yet we’re getting close whilst we’re sitting in 12th or 13th position.
Someone will point out we’re only 2 or 4 points out of the top 6 or so, but realistically with our points differential we are at the right spot. Our form has been way below par. Our attack has looked slow and predictable. We don’t look threatening in attack on 8/10 of our sets. Forwards are not smashing defensive lines and creating room for Keary whose first instinct is to run sideways because no room has been created. Players playing in foreign positions ( Sualli) was so evident from early stages yet never putting them back in proper positions. Etc etc etc

Obviously losing games affects the general atmosphere of any club, people look for reasons, the blame game starts.
Hard times can bring people together or tear them apart, we are struggling right now.
I feel Robinson has made some errors, and has certainly lost some of the aura of invincability he once had.
It doesn't take much to put a team out of balance.
The issues with....
Suaalii moving to centre failed
Walker being dropped instead of coached when we had no replacement, failed
Manu moving to 5/8 failed,
Keary moving to half failed,
Teddy feeling all the pressure and struggling with the captaincy,
Crighton missing the preseason and his mental health issues,
Hutchison being out of his depth and putting pressure on players around him,
Lodge obviously a divisive character when things don't go his way.
Smith, the big import who struggles to perform at hooker.
Radley the loose cannon, who's immaturity surely wears thin with teammates.
There are plenty of issues, and it's up to the coach to fix them.

Here’s a random thought about Robinson, in the entire history of the comp only three coaches have coached more games at a club in one stint than Robbo. So this excludes Fulton and Hasler who coached manly for around 300 games in two seperate coaching tenures.

Two are Bennett at the Broncs and Bellamy at the Storm, probably two of the top 3 best coaches of all time. The other is Steve Folkes at the Dogs who coached 289 games, Robbo is up to 277.

You probably just reach a point where you’ve done all you can do, the juice is squeezed so to speak and it comes time for new ideas. Personally I think he’ll be given next season to turn it around but after that it’s probably over.
