  • Coach Robbo to go trekking in the off season!

Wowie! Maybe the people of Nepal can teach him a thing or two on scoring points…

Nah jokes aside good to see him going on another trekking trip with the Mark Hughes foundation group.

Did you trek to base camp? Awesome effort! 16,500 feet is serious altitude - did you get any altitude sickness? Unforgettable memories I've no doubt for you.

Unless you were a friend of mine who got bad mountain sickness and indeed doesn't remember being there!

Married with children people should not go mountain climbing, hang gliding, skydiving, hiking in bear or mountain lion country, diving to the bottom of the ocean in anything but a proper Navy submarine, yacht racing in 80ft waves etc.

I don't think any of them ever did. There was one episode where Al and Bud went on a fishing trip though - is that allowed?

Met Trent when he was training at the high altitude training centre at Concord in 2019 when he was off to Mt Kilimanjaro and I was off to nepal....(I've done annapurna and everest). He is such an intelligent, well meaning person of high character....island peak is seriously high challenge...good on him for his character to assist the Mark Hughes foundation.

And they shouldn’t watch our team cause they could cause mental illness or heart attack.

Only in a proper boat suitable for fishing, in calm waters, and not in a tinny in croc-infested rivers or the open ocean.Only if wearing life jackets.
Only rock-fishing if anchored to shore and wearing life jacket.

Those can easily be prevented by a legal pill or two on match days, some people use alcohol to calm nervous energy.
Or by counselling from family..."it's only a game of football", "we win some we lose some, it's the same for every team, enjoy the ride"...can help.

TBH I'd be more impressed if he was spectacularly fit like Bellamy and Skeletor.

IMO Robbo's looking a bit portly and pink in the face these days. While I get that being body positive is the theme of the year... he's one of the youngest coaches in the game. I'd love to see him doing some 1/2 marathons around Camden while visiting his (legally blind) mother and joining Bouris for a few boxing sessions.

I reckon a lot of the 'highest mountain' kinda jazz is institutionalised these days. It can be difficult holding my tongue when a colleague spends months talking about how sore their feet are after a 'hike' that's comparable to one of my weekend trail runs. I'm more impressed by regular exercise than I am about 'feats' that anybody can do under a packaged tour arrangement.

He should take The Cheese with him and make him carry the backpacks.

Well said big fella. I couldn't agree more. The internal discipline to remain fit via daily habits is better than a once off event. Still, kudos to Robbo for having a crack.

Bellamy impresses me being that fit over 60. I heard a story on a podcast (might've been Brandon Smith actually) where they mentioned he was flogging himself doing hill sprints during pre-season camp until he vomited only a season or so ago to prove that he wouldn't ask anything of his players that he wouldn't do himself.

Robinson could move this trek forward to September if he wants, he won’t be busy.
