  • Offical Match Day Thread: Roosters v Sea Eagles

I don’t care who we have out today. We don’t seem to go too well when these injured guys are in the team anyway. Maybe the inclusion of a couple of young players will bring some energy and enthusiasm to the side.

We have a decent enough side to get the win. We just need to play with the right attitude and take some pride in the jersey. I won’t be making any excuses.

Let’s hope Wong has a great debut and demands selection in the team every week. We really need a strong attacking backrower who can threaten on his edge.

Can’t wait to get out there for the double header of both grades. Standing on the hill at Brookvale Oval and bantering with the Manly fans is alway lots of fun. I hope to see some of you out there.

    GO ROOSTERS!

I thought we might have a chance early in the week, but now I just can't see it.
Turpins rib injury didn't just disappear. he won't be 100% and we need him to be.
No N Butcher in defence, we will struggle there.
Smith and Keary against Cherry Evans and Schuster ? Huge test for young Sandon.
Look at our bench. Hutch is still on it.
How did it come to this.... the new Aubs??
Only in the coach's dreams and my nightmares.
When Collins and JWH go off we have May and Baker.
I guess a win is possible, and I hope it happens, but I can't see it.
Manly will jump over us on the ladder today, we will be 13th.

i won't be out there but i remember my first brooky game back in the 70s when bunny reilly ran for the line, was tackled, managed to drag the tackler over the line, scored - only for the ref, who was well behind the play, to rule a double movement.
hard to be confident atm but i reckon we might pip them

There, the ball usually gets *painted* in their colours and we rarely see it...seems to be.
They have a big team, with Saab and the other tall players jumping for bombs.
We have a small and light team.
I hope we win by 40, but fear that will be reversed.

2 desperate clubs that cant win the comp but both want to make the 8.
                  Good luck Chooks.
I'll have my 6 pack ready & some snacks, hopefully the Chooks get the chocolates.

Before the outs thought during the week it was a much better team and we will win.Knowing how slow Schuster is he would be my target to run at.Now that Allen and Hutcho are in Schuster looks like a Stallwell gift winner.
I feel we are farked now..but hoping for a miracle play .
If sandon Smith can step up and run the ball more I give us a chance.Smart young bloke.

I've been waiting for the day when things finally click into place and we win comfortably.

                      Please be today!

                      Up the Chooks.

Not very confident even with Manly missing Turbo, I just want to see the young blokes get a decent hit out and show what they have got.
                            Easts to win

I was there too with my dad and brother! Sitting up in the stand right above where it happened. And I remember even Rex Mossop on controversy corner the next day blowing up over what a dud call it was (that favoured his eagles).

I'm inclined to go out there today for old time's sake, but not sure I can face the Sunday evening spit bridge/military road/harbour tunnel coming back to the east!!
