Noyce Takes Responsibility For Darwin Game

The Cowboys’ own partnership with the Northern Territory government expires this year too but coach Neil Henry says the club wants a renewal.
North Queensland is likely to look around for another Sydney club willing to shift a match to the Top End next year.
#####
Here's an idea;
How about the Cowboys transfer one of their home games to Darwin...seeing as how they and the NT govt as such good buddies.
Do you see QLD ever transferring one of their home SOO games to Melbourne?
No.
They're not that stoopid.

If you are going to transfer a game anywhere you have to play it to your advantage.
Playing the cowboys in conditions similar to Townsville....... STUPID !
Playing in Darwin so close to the end of Wet Season....... STUPID !
Travelling up there 2 days before the game and only having a 30 minute training session before hand........ STUPID !
Brian Smith Saying that getting there earlier would have been worse...... STUPID !
I hope they learn from this, if they take a game to Darwin, take a team like the sharks, tigers or titans, play it in June/July when the weather is not as extreme and make sure the team gets up there with PLENTY of time to aclimatise as well as do the community work that the cowboys did..... and they were the AWAY TEAM !!!!

Meh youse are all experts in hind site.
At least the bloke was able to man up and admit he was wrong and made an error.
Everyone here has made errors and I've seen a lot of youse make them but you've often been unable to stick your hands up and admit youse were wrong. The players made a lot on the field that night, the coach made a few too.
I don't see what's wrong with the bloke. Seems to do the job he's paid to do.
What's wrong with saying the word bullshit??? It even slips the filter here. You blokes would have said he was bullshitting if he didn't admit he was wrong.
The players played like gimps, the Cowgirls played like freaks. What was the Melba wacking Noyces fault also???
Even if we'd have won some of you would've still whinged anyway, like after all our wins so far.
No the classic the jumpers were too white, I want blue ones.

You know it makes sense.

Playing the cowboys in their backyard was always dumb for the first moment it was announced
The NT Government puts the money up for teams to play the Cowboys there, not the storm or anyone else.
What part of the Cowboys deal expiring this year and them wanting to renew the deal and attract other clubs to move their home games there did you miss exactly???

They need to find others ways to bring in the cash as opposed to throw a home game." A man can only walk as far as he can see"

As for your hind site error, it is hind site. It's easy to pick apart an error after the event. It's harder to predict an error will be made, months prior. I'm betting this game was organized earlier this year maybe even last year.
That's the CEOs job, to balance the books in combination with helping whenever he can to contribute to the success of the club. He did his job, although in hind site he admits he made an error.
Whats so hard to grasp with that concept???
What's the real shame here is some are looking as usual to play the blame game and are missing the FACT the players played shit. Like they did in Melba. Like they did at home against The Riff. Now "heat" wasn't the factor there.
BTW we were playing Poocastle in Gosford, NZ in NZ before Noyce was CEO, werent we???

Brian Smith could call all the journo's a bunch of carrnts at the presser for all i care, but it's not the sort of thing a CEO should say in public.
If i may take a quote from the backwards book, that's just my opinion of course.

I personally like a bloke who wears a suit but still talks like he would to his mates at the pub.
And I don't think shit is much of a taboo word these days really. I do admit if he'd have used the word steamer for example I'd have keeled over in .

I am saying that if he needs to find cash find another better way there are options mate. The NRL pays teams a premium bonus to take home games away, I am saying why agree to play the cowboys or newcastle in their back yard? why could we not drive the car and we choose who we play and where like the dogs taking the sharks to SA, they got the cash and a neutral game." Our club is running at a loss each year, and the power brokers are just looking at ways to turn this around.
Don`t give them complaints, but rather give them solutions...
