The Cowboys are well aware that most Sydney clubs struggle for crowds against them so one or more may be willing to take the money to have a game up there.

The Cowboys get reasonable crowds for most of their games against all clubs - it's the Sydney clubs that struggle for crowds against the interstate teams, esp the Cowboys.

The trade off appears to be that the club who takes their game there does not have to play in Townesville, as we don't have to this year.

I reckon he planned it just so he'd sound more working class... reckoning he'd appeal to the fans.

Ironically he was bullshitting at the time.

CEO... seriously, who is he and how was he selected? There isn't even a Wikipedia article on him!! Surely we can pluck a better CEO out of the Eastern Suburbs ranks?

No I won't cut anything mate.

You can live in hind site all you want and play the blame game also. That's your choice. I've explained where I was coming from repeatedly, maybe your need to reply and validate indicates I'm not all that wrong on this point.

Me personally I have zero problem with playing games anywhere. This clubs soft with these attitudes that filter down to us fans. And it's weak IMO to blame a CEO for doing his job cos we lost a game. In fact I reckon Noyce only answered the criticism cos you whiners whinged, he actually says that in the article.

And let's be honest no one blames him in the club, it's his job to do the PC thingy and take some heat from the players. As is the coaches job when he blames reffs or his selections or tactics etc.

Harden the fark up princesses. I say that with love of course understanding the fragile eggshell minds I'm dealing with. Dont be offended now my precious. Gollum was the king of the whinge and blame game.

I knew it was Roosters supporters Jim Morrison had in mind when he coined that phrase.

I think it is great to play games in different places to promote the game. However, to play a game in the tropics against a team that is based in the tropics is just dumbness. Not to mention the softness of our team and the fact that they obviously treated the roadtrip as a holiday.

Funny thing is MrWong I agree with the general consensus, a point convienently missed from many of the replies I have and will cop. I'm not a fan of playing home games away like that, period. I do see the benefits to the club though and understand as part of Noyces job he has to explore these avenues. No matter who the CEO was/is they will cop the blame by the fragile ones who love to play the blame game.

Often when I give my opinion on a piece and while I personally don't like or agree with what I say, I try to understand WHY something's being done.

In this case the FACTS remain our blokes played shit, the Cowplods played great, and it was all done in the same opressive conditions, no matter what spin people want to apply. Blaming the CEO is masking the FACTS. Simple as a pimple.

Jim was a smart and funny and ironic man IMO. Pretty mo-fo too.

Cogburn that comment is far more naive than I would give you credit for. When and where games are played has nothing to do with the coach here or at any other club.

I'm not quite sure why the vitriol about the article - it was a big mistake to move the game there and he admitted that in hindsight.

That's two points we missed - two more on offer this afternoon.

This whole inept episode has been an embarrassment to the club.

How can you have confidence in the club's management when they make decisions like that?

                      Actually appalling.

i have lost all confidence in our management.i have been a proud supporter over 40 years. i still rock but not in a rockin chair.i cancelled my membership due to management. i support the players but not the management.the board is just filled with politis puppets.i attended the scg tribute to artie - i watched noyce closely that day - his body language was that of someone who was lost and who had no idea of how to fit in.

Further more, your comment was 100% spot on.It is the CEO`s responsibility for game scheduling, not the coach.
Noyce`s admission is testament to this...
