Yeah you are right he should have just stood there like the other 6 blokes you could throw a hanky over and let him run to the line, no need to force the player to make a decision.
It was an easy decision. Just throw it over him. Mistimed, poor judgement and irresponsible. Mark up on your man instead of trying to be a hero.

If he doesn't come in, the bloke just runs to the try line unopposed, how is that a better option???, if Tagive follows him in, the play gets shut down

He doesn't come in, he slides causing the opposition player to slow down with indecision, and then we try putting the player in to touch. You saw it later in the play. Most of our players got there. Except Leilua, who was still in the backplay.

BJ is mistake ridden...not saying he'll always be. I remember SKD used to be so there is every chance he will improve but i think it may take a year or two.

No. Those 5 roosters defenders were 10-15 metres in front of the dragons players and had all but the centre and winger covered. Look at how close two roosters defenders get to the centre.

            BJ misread the play.

Smith said in the press conference that it was his fault they havn't practiced defending short kick offs enough. You can't crucify individual players for every little thing in the game.

My blame is where it's always been, on Smith. We have NO set moves to perform on the opposition try line.

Who makes up the plays for the team to follow, the coach.

It's only Pearce's burgeoning talents (which I mistakenly thought he was lacking) thanks to cutting Anasta out of most of the plays that give us any attacking flair.

Every week guaranteed Bj gets caught out or jumped over. The opposition know it & play on it consistently.. He isn't learning anything, he is making the same mistakes every damn week...

I've been critical too but he's a baby mate. He also doesn't get any decent service from the 5/8 sadly. IMO it showed on Sunday how he can perform given some early pill.

Talking of Sunday I don't know if he really handled his first game after his first rep game. It's something I've seen happen to players in the past. Look at Pearce he's done the rep footy thing many times now, he knows how to back up. IMO it's something only learnt from experience.

I'm waiting to judge BJ fully on next years efforts, with Baloney in the mix. Sure he's frustrating at times, but so are all kids and we have a lot of them.

I think you are right stsae on this one

Yes John I know you blame Smiff.

I know you think DA would be better.

I believe we will improve with a real 5/8. I'm willing to let Smiff have a year, just finish his contract, with a real 5/8 again.

I don't believe we have no plays near the line either. We definitely don't execute as well as we should near the line IMO. I'd get deep and ping the ball out to Maubs, SKiD, BJ, Gurrera etc running and isolating the Sowards of this world. I'm sure we'd have more of a chance of scoring than inside balls to Mini and dummy 1/2s trying to dive over.

But cos I don't agree with part of the game plan doesnt mean I don't see there is one.

Given the number of incidents during the game I don't think anyone is seriously blaming BJ for the loss.

I am actually more pleased with the team than I have been in a long time. We finally have a decent game plan...

I thought it was our best effort all season mate.

And yeah the game plans progressing, still plenty of improvement IMO. Was good to see we looked dangerous and it was probably Maubs and SKiDs quietest game all season. Usually they are our only options but we seemed to find other ways to make ground and score.

The kicking game was much improved.

Will be much better IMO with a 5/8 who can contribute more, a valid option.
