I am humoring myself as I have too much time on my hands. So don't be too harsh!!!
Besides a miracle... playing around with the NRL predictor...Easts ar enot dead....on life supportyes...but not dead!
The most vulnerable to slip out of the 8 are the eels and then sharks.
Both have tough draws.
I see the eels who are on 24 points today - play Cowboys/Storm/Dragons/Broncos/Roosters/Panthers/Bye. - They could finish on 28 points ... They will be interesting to watch and look very vulnerable especially with RCG missing. The only game that they would be starting hot favourites is Dragons and Easts... They will come at Easts hard at their home. I'm thinking thye finish on 28 or 30 points .... if they get to 30 it is because of a win over Easts which pretty much pulls the plug on the life support (I don't see Easts beating both Broncos and Rabbits.... they will struggle all games!)
The Sharks on 26 points have.... Manly/Panther/Rabbits/Titan/Cows/Knights/Raiders..... tough run with Manly,Titans and Knights the expected wins tking them to 32.
I think the Cowboys can and will sneak in ...Now on 24 points but have ...Eels/Titans/Broncos/Bye/Sharks/Dolphins/Panthers..... I think they will finish on 34 points (be interesting to see if Panthers rest anybody last round.) and take the eels place.
The other teams outside the 8 who can jag a miracle spot are Knights/Manly/Titans and Dolphins....out of all of them the Dolphins probably have the "easier" route to 32 points.... Easts route is tough!
Based on the above.... I think the Eels make way for the Cowboys and the Sharks are the team to watch to open up a spot for one of the fringe dwellers like easts..... If they finish on 30 then the path to 32 is there for who ever can grab it.
Regardless...it is going to be an interesting few weeks of watching the 8 change and teams slip in and out.
Easts dont really derserve it, but the Sharks and other teams are always gifted a soft draw!
