I agree with your take. People forget how good Watson was for us. I do highly rate Turpin though.

I think it stems from Watson & the Cheese being very similar and Turps being an out-&-out hooker.

He won the medal playing 5/8th in the Nines tournament a few years ago for best player.

I've seen him play other games as an effective running 5/8th.

What’s his kicking game like? Our end of sets are atrocious with two kickers, I can’t imagine it improving with one.

No doubt he has a great running game, but his passing and kicking isn’t at a standard required to be a regular NRL half. A running middle forward, like Dylan Walker for the warriors, is a perfect spot for him imo.
