Because we already have 4 forwards on the bench why would we need a 5th?

(In my personal opinion) I think he is tired and has been playing half-heartedly this entire season (unable to flick the switch). He came in after a massive world cup campaign, which was right after him recovering from that bad calf injury from late last season against Souths. Coming off that, he had an amazing world cup performance, then finishes off that and enters pre-season training and cops a facial facture during training in Queenstown (thankfully it was the other cheek side and not the side he damaged against Latrell in 2021).

I would NOT want to change him for anyone or let him go. He deserves every opportunity to reset, recover and go again. This season is a write-off in general (coaching tactics, players performances, style of play in both attack and defence) ... it is what it is. I know this year he has been playing below expectations, but so has everyone else and unfortunately, it's just "one of those years" !

      He will bounce back !

        I hear you.
My greatest concern is the realisation Joey may return to NZ and play out his career there.

People seem so happy to right off this year, which I get because we have been putrid but it’s hard to assemble a squad like we have. These windows are small, and you need to make the most of them. A lot of players will be off contract and leaving soon and we will all be looking back on what could’ve been.

Manu has been disappointing this year as has most of the team. My biggest gripe with him has been his ball carrying. He liked to run with the ball in one hand, and when he does this, which is most of the time, you know and the defense knows, that the player isn’t going to pass. Hold the ball in two hands. At least give the illusion that you may pass the bloody thing.

The thing with Manu and this is my opinion, he doesnt really show his emotions which makes it look like he doesnt care. When he's playing well that doesnt matter but when he's average it can really get on a fans nerve hahha

Nup, not according to TRobbo .
                Purely a coaching decision!
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but TRobbo farked up again...so for those of you who continue to defend his questionable tactics, what's your take on this?
My take is that I agree 100% with you and Roosterproud..

Even Cameron Smith mentioned on the telecast in the second half why Turpin doesn’t come on at hooker and shift B Smith into lock!?!

It seems everyone is seeing it except the Robbo fan club and the super coach himself..

Joey Manu has been a shadow of himself this year, which is very disappointing considering his reputation as a gun player and pay packet..

These big names need to be a lot better, you want the big cash then go out and be a consistent player week in week out!

                  Makes sense right?

I never wanna lose Manu but what he dished up last night wasn’t good enough (and previous weeks in defence). It’s all mindset for him. He can 300m at fullback but then only 60m’s at centre? Cmon, we need more from him.

Manu has just flat out refused to play centre this year. We can’t even run a set move out to his edge as he is always out of position. only time he’s ever done anything this season is when he just drifts in field and goes it on his own.

When you think about how much of an individual attacker he is - his brilliant plays are generally solo plays where he just gets the ball flat footed and pulls something genius out - it’s kinda nuts that they ever thought he could ever play 6.

people like him at fullback as it means he gets more early ball with space. But he’s not really a fullback either. He’d be a complete defensive liability if back there full time, and I doubt he’d have the fitness to play a full season there

Manu's best position is on the Wing, where he gets to make a lot of carries, followed by Fullback.

Manu is a gun. Just burnt out I think.

You just get the feeling some players are " off " the coach. Just my opinion thou. The 2 Broncos second half tries were under 8s garbage.

They start annual leave in 5 weeks -time for a huge break and get away from each other.
