I think it was more the referee getting caught up in the occasion than any bias toward our team.

The NRL has the worst officials in any sport in Australia. It is amateur hour. How can a game, watched by hundreds of thousands, having thousands of dollars laid on the result (i'm not a gambler), as well as being contested by players worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, be officiated by blokes who hardly pull in 60k a year, most of whom are not even full-timers.

FFS,you'd think the NRL would invest in a professional referee academy and employ a large number of referees who have the potential to earn decent coin.

We have Kieran Foran being shopped around for 650k, while our top ref (who in my opinion has a bigger influence on the game) is lucky to pull in 60k. Ludicrous.

I think so too.. but surely even the video ref or touch judge has a word in the ear to double check.. Referee's should have the level of composure to check this type of thing.. If a team was behind by 30 then I can understand letting it slide but when the game is so close I cannot understand why you would not want to be completely sure.
