If Keary needs to go as many suggest (with Sam playing 7) then who is the genuine 6 to take us forward? Not much out there!

There aren't any players really available apart from Aidan Sezer from the Super League who I still think might be good for just one season as a cheapie. He's someone who can organise, kick, goal kick and has plenty of experience which we could use in the halves as Walker continues to develop.
If the club did want to get rid of Keary asap I do think Manu/Walker would be the most realistic option although I'm not sure how I feel about it. It'd put a lot of pressure on Walker to organise and Manu at 6 this year wasn't particularly amazing either, perhaps a full pre season under his belt and that might change though? I think I'd prefer him there over Keary at this point.

Sure Keary had an off night last night but he's generally been pretty good most of the season, especially as he's been playing with a number of halves partners.
It'll be his terms that he leaves on and I suspect that it will be the end of next year when he will retire. That's gives us some time to shop for an experienced 5/8 or gives Joey a full year to get his skills right (he will need to learn how to pass).
Whoever plays 5/8 will partner Walker who is still our long term half option.

I think he'd be a very good investment. Only 22 now, probably a lot cheaper than say Luai, he's in very good form and can play halfback or 6.
Edit: Only 22. Will get heavier and stronger. Sign him up. Could end up being something similar to Hunt.Last edited by dice; 07-28-2023, 01:59 PM.

What about Pearcey? Not taking the piss, halves are maturing and peaking at the back end of their careers now (look at SJ, Reynolds etc.). Be good to know how he is going in super league atm. Is he stringing games together?
Long kicking game, could steer the ship and already a Roosters premiership winning half.
I’ll be shot down but we don’t have many other decent options in front of us for next year.
