Chook, I have been critical of Pearce in regards to his 5th tackle option & not having vision but I have never doubted his other skills or his toughness.
He was graded way to early & has had preferential treatment & I dont think he is better than Wallace, but the best thing about Pearce is that his best years are ahead of him, so the Roosters have to look after him again in the vicinty of at least 650,000 large per year or otherwise another club will pay that.
I still rate Mortimer over Pearce. I know I kick against the pricks with that but I saw more out of Mortimer during his time at Parramatta than I have out of Pearce in 5 years.
I'd have Mortimer and Maloney over Maloney and Pearce.
I know it won't happen and Daniel Mortimer will be this century's John Simon.

lol what rubbish. Pearce, in my eyes still has a long way to go and a lot to prove, but you surely cannot say Mortimer is a better playmaker than Pearce.
His time at Parra and subsequent demotion to Wenty showed us exactly why some people did not rate him before hand. His kicking game is average, his passing game is average, he cannot lead the team around.
What he does best is his support play. That's what made him famous at Parra. Take that away and his skills are second grade standard. Put him in the halves as an organiser and he wont do squat
Go back in time to his playing days at Parra and prove to me he did anything but be a support player. Once the Eels stopped making breaks and the emphasis shifted back onto his play-making, he failed miserably
Having said that, i don't mind him as a bench player.
