I wouldn't be too confident. Newcastle have Wayne + LOTS of star players... not that I'm scared of Boyd when Mini's playing like he did on Wednesday.

We'll be well rested... which could help. But eiter we'll lift + win by not much, or get thumped IMO.
Well i reckon we can beat the knights. Looking at their record they are very inconsistent. In all of their matches so far this season, the knights have gone L W L W L W L. So hopefully they can beat Penrith and keep the inconsistency, so when we play them it will be their turn to lose.

Very important game for us to win.

We need to back up with a good show after last games "best of season" dig for us. Our losses this year have all had extenuating circumstances but we dont need an excuse here hopefully, just the cash.

If we get a decent crowd out there, and the team plays at the level they did on Anzac day then we are right in it.

Round 9 is a little early to be calling a make or break game for making the 8 though.

Gone are the days where you could confidently predict a Roosters win.

We will be well rested with a nice long turnaround, the Knights are coming off the short turnaround and from the dreaded Monday night game, which stats show that teams coming off Monday night usually lose their next game. So just taking this significant thing alone into account, plus we are at home, we should win with absolutely "no excuses"!!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

            Here's looking at you, kid.

Yes A DECENT CROWD IS NECESSARY!!!! Certainly from the St Merge game it was AWESOME to have 40,000 out there!!! We had the Merge fans going quiet and leaving early... gave me a 5 minute taste of what it's like to see Merge "fans" who only signed up in the last 3 years due to their win/loss record going home empty handed (sweet revenge when you know half of them weren't fans during the tough times and probably won't be in years to come as they falter.)

After last week I signed up for 4 of those $100 season tickets. My kids are now big enough to make the trip to Sydney for every home game and if they don't come, I'm gonna bring some mates instead so they have no excuses about the ticket prices!!!

Brian Smith is a prag of the Cadaverous Mope (WHERE ARE YOU ADOLF FITTLER????)

When was the last time a team Smith coached beat a Bennett coached team?

As a qualification, half the dragons team was out if I remember correctly.

We were without Carney, Myles, FPN after their 'night out' as well as a large injury toll on top of that.

That link has the two lineups. Just click on player stats at the top.

Willie Mason is a strong chance to play next week. I hope they line him up and smash him.

Knowing the Roosters luck he will play his comeback match this week-end to blow off the cobwebs & come out against us next round all guns blazing.

                              Roosters by 1.
the signing of Willie Mason will boost the Knights forwards

Knights by 4 is my prediction but we can easily snatch a win.
