I think it's his 3rd one this year - he missed an earlier game due to the mandatory stand down as well.

      Go the Chooks
Last week you saw us losing and we won.
This week you see us winning, so that points to a… win!

Not that I really care about the Tuesday named side but seriously is Turpin carrying an injury or has he started a civil war within the club ? is he or his manager negotiating a deal elsewhere ?

How does one of our most consistent and solid player go from a must in the 17 to barely in the 21 ?!?!

        Something must be up !

          • Dolphins winger and leading points-scorer Jamayne Isaako has scored 19 tries in 20 NRL games this season.
          • The Dolphins have won only two of their last 10 matches.
          • The Roosters have made more tackles than any other NRL team in 2023.
          • The Roosters are aiming for their first back-to-back wins since April.
          • Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett has won eight of his past 10 games against the Roosters.
          • Roosters winger Daniel Tupou has scored five tries in his past four games.
          • In their only previous game in Sydney, the Dolphins were swamped 58-18 by Manly.
          • Roosters five-eighth Luke Keary will make his 200th NRL appearance.

Touch wood of course none have to experience it again.
Hopefully Robbo had no say in Walkers treatment for his knee & it was left up to the medicos/ professionals

Most decisions by Robbo the last 2yrs have been ordinary.

I hope they didn't steer away from surgery early on thinking it could be rehabed for a return this year for a finals run which is highly unlikely now.

It feels like without some kind of surgery to stabilise the knee Walker is a higher than normal chance to totally tear it next year when he returns which will totally stuff us next year again.

Hopefully Walker has chosen to take the best advice on this moving forward.

The problem with Turpin is he’s either starting or he’s not playing. He’s one of those players that you get value out of over long minutes, not as an impact player and as a utility player he doesn’t cover as many positions as Sandon Smith.

I think it’s just unfortunate for him, because quite frankly I think to date he has outperformed Brandon Smith.

And people still think we can win our last 5 & make the top 8 & make an impression......

Pigs will fly before that happens.

This is a good point. I’ll wait for my judgement on Napa based on his performance because I will always love him for dominating Souths back in the day.

But I’d personally have Turpin on the bench in front of him. I’d have Sandon to cover HIA’s/injuries from 1-7 and Turps can give Cheese a break and Cheese can play some middle as well.

Robbo seems hell bent on not letting Cheese play as a ball running middle, which I don’t get. Especially when we are missing Watson, Brown, Egan, Crichton and Sitili. He offers so much punch which we are currently missing and Turps has proved he can do a job at hooker.

He has definitely outperformed Brandon, and honestly we have paid absolute overs for someone who I believe is a lock. It's a shame but yes, collateral damage, unfortunately.

Since Radley has had a shocker as of late at Lock, so much so that even Brown was slotted into that role which pushed Rads to the right edge. I'd honestly have Brandon starting at lock, Rads on the right edge, Nat Butcher at left edge with Turps at starting hooker and Sandon as the utility.

Let Hutch and Keary remain in the halves. It could work but I know that Robbo won't roll the dice with that move because he's brought Brandon in to play at #9.

It gives the indication that he won't be extended in 2024 one would say

Coach Robinson gives the thumbs up after completing a quick arthroscope on Sam Walkers Knee - " It the Roosters Way" Coach Robinson later explained - saved a few thousand dollars as well

I’m not so sure, I can’t imagine he’s on much. At a guess I would assume it’s Turpin’s decision to make but the Roosters would have a contract on the table for him should he want it.

Robinson has traditionally liked a dummy half with NRL experience as back up along the line of Henderson/Le’strange/Baptiste/Carter/McIlwrick so I just assume he would want Turpin around next season rather than having to go out and look for another dummy half with experience.
