So what his Mum did is reflective of his character.

That's like saying if you are a FDC your kids are also FDC's.

I suppose Nicho is a druggo and dealer. And he brings along plenty of off-field distractions as a result of his Mum.

Very different circumstances. Yet more trivialising of the deaths of 3 innocent people by comparing that crime to drug possession. On a roll mate.

I just explained the distractions. Just last year he tried to walk out on the club 2 days before a game then got booed out of the stadium and then questioned why the fans would boo him. He asks for a contract release every 3 weeks it seems. It's either him or his manager. Has a month gone by since his debut where something off-field hasn't occurred with him? Be it either disciplinary action, a contract stand-off, etc.

I'm not saying he's a terrible human being, I don't know the bloke but he clearly is a walking headline. He brings heaps of baggage with him. You are choosing to ignore that because he is good at footy. Just like many on here (including myself) chose to ignore Lodge's past issues because he was playing great footy for us, only for it to end how it did.

Haas will go where the most money is and that's fine, he is a premier athlete and it's his prerogative to do so. I just hope it isn't us because I think it will create disharmony and indicate we are on a decline when you spend silly money on a forward. Has a touch of the Willie Mason about it. Dominant forward on huge money. No prop should earn more than 800k in my book if you want a successful team.

Get Tino for 800k, who brings leadership qualities, is cheaper, has a connection to Holbrook and is future captain material.

Reports coming out that rugby is a chance? Do you know if there is any truth to this?

I can’t see his skills translating in rugby personally.

            jwh $800k to retire
Keary $800k to retire or more on
            Suaali $750k gone
Gus critchon if not re signed $750k
            tupou $400k maybe retires

rhe average salary is around $400k for a top 30 player at $12m salary cap and with it climbing to $14m next season that’s up to $470k so we have to realise we are not living 5-10 years ago and player wages are also inflating
if good props are $800k now an extra $200k isn’t much more
A busy period coming up for the Coaching Staff and Recruitment as far a retentions/ signings and recruitment goes

In 2025 the Roosters only have 7 players under contract if Smith takes up his PO - Tedesco/Toia/Walker/Collins/Radley/Brandon Smith (PO) / Egan Butcher

13 of the current squad players with contracts for 2024 are free to negotiate with other clubs from November 1 2023

Toops / JWH/Keary/Nat Butcher/Momirovski/Billy Smith/Manu/May/Whyte/Tupouniua/Crichton/Wong and Sandon Smith who is still on a development contract

8 of the current squad players including 3 development contract players have no contract for 2024 at this stage confirmed - Allan / Watson / Hutchinator / Turpin / Brown/ Thomas/ Deakin/Pauga

Baker and Paulo have signed for other teams in 2024

I believe he will be joining us. It is great that all these other clubs are in the headlines and there has been little mention of us lately.

Imagine the reaction of Tallis later this year...

If you think I am trivialising the three deaths then ICGAFF. You obviously can't read or choose not to.

You clearly brought his Mum up and tried to pin something of her character onto him. Unjustified and pathetic in my eyes. If that hurt you then I'm sorry.

I doubt we have any hope of getting Tino. All media speculation imo. But I am sure we will look at both options if he is seriously looking at all options unless the Haas deal is already over the line which I get the feeling it is seeing he won't commit to Brisbane. Unfortunately it doesn't look good on him but neither party can say anything because we are not allowed to talk to him until 1st November. Just my opinion.

You can't choose your parents though

Even Ted Bundy has a Daughter.

Not sure if one could have a parent erased from a birth certificate or not - fancy having to show that at times to other folk throughout your life let alone knowing what your father did and having to live with that your whole life

If he signs we won’t be braking the bank just relax everyone & we won’t be losing anybody we want to keep. 3rd party deals & business investment deals all part of the deal.

I am not hurt by it in the slightest mate, I just find it funny that you are more outraged by me bringing it up than you are by the fact that it occurred.

To take your own advice on reading, you will see that I said that it wasn't his doing and was out of his control but still was a significant off-field distraction and that disharmony was caused and that he continues to create off-field incidents through his very public contract stand-offs and other various incidents.

I am convinced Haas will stay at Brisbane because they will backend his deal with huge amounts of money given they've lost Herbie and A-Rey will likely retire in 2 years.

Tino is by far a better long-term investment but if we get Haas over him it is in keeping with our average recruitment policies and decision making since 2020.

With Payne I guess it depends on who is around him at the time, if we're going to spend a million bucks on a prop that's fine as long as we can retain our other top tier players and get the most out of the player.
