      That’s really funny. He’s not as tough as JWH and doesn’t make the metres of Haas. Does he have hands like Artie?

        JWH has been carrying our pack on his back for 5 years. When he performs, the team perform. When he is off, the team is off. He’s the best prop of his generation, and the best prop I’ve ever seen play.

        Haas is a statistically good player. He makes metres. He makes tackles. He throws offloads. I also can’t ever recall a game he has stamped his authority on. A game where he just made it his own and went out and won it. he’s also got the stink of NSW’s ****ing trash origin side which doesn’t help.

        He doesn’t hold a candle to Jared’s achievements, courage, and leadership. But then again no prop will for a long long time.

        I think he’d be as good a replacement as we could hope for, but replacing Jared is going to be like replacing Freddy

          JwH at 800k, $6500 per mtr.
          Haas would be a great buy at 1mil and he would transform the roosters into a force once again.
          Haas has rejected a contract worth 1.1m and is holding out for supposedly 1.2-1.3m

          JWH just re-signed on a one year deal for less than he’s currently on which was 750 so you’d assume he’s on 500-600k next year.

            Jwh is a roosters legend
            but I will admit haas is in front of jwh at 23 at the same age and I do predict haas will finish as the best front rower the game has had
            he is 6.5” 130kg played 80 min and a huge motor and big mtrs
            he is the best front rower in the game now and scary where he could get to
            also very quick in contact and playing the ball

              Haas has rejected 1.1 at the Broncos , that may just mean he wants out. Let's see what happens.

              Jwh was a bad choice to compare Haas ,
              take your pick of props and Haas has them all covered in most stats.
              He has more offloads this season then most of our pack combined

                JWH has been instrumental in delivering 3 premierships to our great club , and as I have mentioned before he is a beast on the field and a pure gentleman off the field which money cannot buy . A true roosters legend . Sad day when he hangs up his boots.
                Yep constantly overlooked by outsiders, but the fact is our culture change has been since he joined the club. He’s more than a leader on the field,he’s a mentor, solid citizen & top bloke off the field. Will be a bigger hole to fill than any other Rooster I’ve seen after he hangs up the boots.

                  JWH is the greatest prop of the NRL era. Haas has a long way to go to match him.

                  Yes, Haas is a beast. He runs hard, can bust a tackle and has quite the engine: but he's not a pimple on JWHs ass in terms of leadership, aggression and hard hitting rock solid defence.

                  The latter three qualities are the forward traits that win Premierships. It's why JFH is currently the best prop in the game, not Haas.
                  A point that gets overlooked far too often is his standing in Prop rankings. He’s been the most dominant Prop in the NRL era,yet never ranks in the pundits or media top 10s etc as high as he should,if at all in some rankings. He doesn’t even have to be in the play, it’s simply his aura that puts fear into opponents & allows team mates to walk taller. He would be a great mentor & role model to the younger blokes. For mine he’s always been the leader of the club & I know he’s not on the field for 80 each game but he’s deadset been the only one capable of standing up as a leader since Boyd left & should have been captain.

Haas is definitely an impact player, but he won’t replace JWH’s influence. I definitely want Haas at the club but not if we throw the kitchen sink at him.
                    Yes. On a scale of wanting to be here...

                    JWH = 10/10

                    Haas = eeerm... 0/10?

                      Agreed. IMO it's unfortunate that (also in the business world), such skills never seem to get fully appreciated. Possibly because there's no hard measure for 'everybody seems to gain a boot load of confidence and play a level up when that guy's in the team'.

                        I don't get all this Haas v JWH stuff. It's not a matter of who is better so who do we choose between them. It's who do we choose between all the props in the comp besides JWH because he's only got 1 more year left.

                        JWH has been my favourite Rooster for all the reasons everyone has stated in this thread and there is much love and respect for him that is totally deserved for 10 yrs exceptional service to the club both on and off the field. Sad day when he hangs them up and I for sure will make sure I'm there to show my appreciation when that time comes as it inevitably will next year.

                        All that doesn't mean we have to hate on Haas because Jared is a legend and club and fan favourite. I think if we can get Haas for when JWH goes he is the best available replacement and is an exceptional prop. Yep concerns over his character are fair I suppose but he is maturing I think in this area. Still a kid. If we could get him for 1m to replace Jared who's on 800 and the cap going up I think it's a no brainer.

                        That doesn't mean I think Haas is greater than JWH

                          JWH - legend of our club, has delivered us 3 premierships, inspires the team every time he takes the field, is a really nice bloke off the field, and is a proud rooster through and through.

                          haas - is a dick

                          end of…

                            I think the club would be very interested in a player of Haas ability. If he comes here and performs like we know he can, he will quickly become a very popular player and maybe not the same level that JWH holds in our hearts but winning games forgives other shortcomings. He would be a hit with us for sure.

                              I agree he does get overlooked by the media to some degree, god only knows why. At least maybe the most knowledgeable guy in the game David Middleton had Jared in his "Team of the 2010s"

                                Geez, that’s a scarily good team. Hard to argue with any of those selections.
