  • Haas v JWH

Haas average mtrs per match 2023 is 189 mtrs with JWH at 123.
Haas at 1 Mil, $5291 per mtr
JwH at 800k, $6500 per mtr.
Haas would be a great buy at 1mil and he would transform the roosters into a force once again.

Stats alone don’t do JWH justice for his impact on the club. His aura brings the team with him, he cultivates culture and inspires others. Haas is definitely an impact player, but he won’t replace JWH’s influence. I definitely want Haas at the club but not if we throw the kitchen sink at him.

And JWH doesn't ask for a release after every 3 games

If both are like for like , both in their prime then its an easy decision , JWH every day of the week . JWH is better player on the field and off the field .

JWH has been instrumental in delivering 3 premierships to our great club , and as I have mentioned before he is a beast on the field and a pure gentleman off the field which money cannot buy . A true roosters legend . Sad day when he hangs up his boots.

This might be the most reductionist prop forward analysis ever

JWH is the greatest prop of the NRL era. Haas has a long way to go to match him.

Yes, Haas is a beast. He runs hard, can bust a tackle and has quite the engine: but he's not a pimple on JWHs ass in terms of leadership, aggression and hard hitting rock solid defence.

The latter three qualities are the forward traits that win Premierships. It's why JFH is currently the best prop in the game, not Haas.

JWH, respected and loved, 3 time premiership winner. I know my preference.

Haas averages more mtrs then teddy .
it's only one stat but a pretty important one for a prop.
JWH is king with the all round package no doubt

Haas would be a good buy at $1M. Considering Bronx are already offering $1.1 and it’s a lot more expensive to live in Sydney I’d be suprised if this got him over the line.

Run metres isn’t the only way props impact the game though. There are many intangibles that JWH has that Payne is yet to and may never develop,

Haas is the only genuine replacement for JWH. Anyone else is a downgrade.

Its a tough comparison. I don't think any prop could bring the whole package that JWH has provided Easts with.

Well, Tino is off the market, so let's go all in for HAAS.

We need Haas in 2025. Simple.

Haas needs to display leadership, which he hasn’t shown yet. True he runs hard and makes meters, but it’s the attitude that makes other players want to go to war with is lacking.

Also, I feel 1 million dollars plus is ridiculous for any prop.

The Broncos have had Haas for a few years now but they didn't make an impact on the comp until Reynolds and now Walsh arrived.

It's the spine where you need to spend the big bucks.

Give me a Leniu/Leota type for 500k plus a 1m star playmaker over Haas and a spud like Townsend any day.
