You need to include the mins played to give an accurate reflection. Easy to run for more meters if your playing an additional 10-15 mins each game

A fairer comparison would be a younger JWH. He was always conserved but capable of longer minutes. 2019 grand final was my MOM with 185m and 41 tackles.

Hass on the other hand is still young with improvement in him. We need to sign this bloke.

Edit: just thinking about my "being conserved" comment and wondering whether that is also a factor in Haas wanting to leave. I recall the weekly physical demands on SBW and impact on longevity being the main reason he left the Bulldogs.

Sure you don’t replace him with the 2020 wooden spoon winner

JWH has real personality. Roosters fans love him, others love to hate him, refs target him. He always takes it upon himself to be our alpha male and do what’s hard. All young props for the last decade go after him to try and prove themselves because he has been the benchmark for so long. Undoubtedly the best of the NRL era.

Haas is technically a great prop skill-wise, is a huge guy with a big motor and does his job consistently well, but he’s just a bit……. meh. Bugger all personality. He doesn’t take it upon himself personally to go after other packs like JWH does and show the way for his team mates, he doesn’t intimidate or go after the huge hit on his opposing number, he just does his job (really well though). He doesn’t have enough larrikin or grub in him like JWH has. JWH has always sailed very close to the wind to exert his dominance over an opposing pack, sometime too close, but it’s served him and the Roosters well since the day he arrived. JWH is the prop who picks out their biggest guy and runs straight at him 100 miles an hour; imagine his average metres if he were running a halves all day like NAS.

Time will tell if Haas is remembered in the same league as JWH, but he would be a very welcome addition to our team. Now just imagine if someone were to flick the “JWH switch” in him; he would be unstoppable.

They are both tough good props.
I hope the Chooks get Hass.

Haas at 1 Mil, $5291 per mtr
JwH at 800k, $6500 per mtr.
Haas would be a great buy at 1mil and he would transform the roosters into a force once again.
                Ridiculous comparison

Watch Jared in defence even nowadays, some of the agility and one on one stops he makes in the middle are incredible.

A Rooster God with whom Haas will never compare.

Great post. Long odds Haas will still be playing NRL in 10 years time when he's Jared's age. You get the feeling he could do without the game. Whilst ever he's still physically capable, I don't think Jared could.

Why ? its one stat and its a fact.
Haas has every prop covered quite easily in mtrs gained and post contact mtrs gained .
he leads the comp in post contact mtrs and is fourth in mtrs gained.
That's what you get for your money the best yardage prop in the comp.

That's the point I guess as the price tag of Haas is an issue with some fans.
I think he represents value for what he delivers on the field be it minutes or mtrs gained.
He has 41 offloads compared to Tino 27
                          and our whole pack
                          JWH 4
                          collins 5
                          Gus 5
                          Smith 8
                          Butchers 11
                          Radley 4
                          Brown 8

Mate, you work it out why it is ridiculous.
It's obvious to anyone with more than half a brain that this simplistic one dimensional metres per dollar view is a simpletons way of rating a players input
                            especially a front rower.
There are so many variables.... you are comparing a 23 year old with a 33 year old for a start.
JWH has Haas covered in every area based purely on his career as one of the top props in the game for 13 years.
Haas would dream of a career as good as JWH.

The Big Dog every day of the week!

He's won 3 comps and remained loyal meanwhile Haas is contemplating a move to Belmore for Fark knows why. Broncos are offering him $1 million a year and their premiership window is well and truly open. He's a greedy pig and I wouldn't be surprised if the Broncos show him the door!

                              JWH is all class!
