I'm confused mightyrooster, you say that we will struggle to win many of our next 6 games and yet you fully endorse Smithy and Retarded Son????? Is this a lack of faith in Smithy and Retarded Son to properly prepare our side and get the players up on game day??? Or you think we will have the excuse of not winning as we will be screwed over by the refs each and every time??? Do you think we will make the 8 this year??? If no than you think it is ok and you are quite happy enough for Smithy and Retarded Son to just continue along on their merry way, with year after year not even making the 8???????????

Calm down Oracle. I think you will find our main point of difference is our level of expecations here. I do not and have never expected our team to make the 8 this year. I have gone on record as saying we will finish somewhere from 9-12 or thereabouts and we MAY sneak into the 8 if things go our way such as injuries or luck (both for us and the other teams). Perhaps if you realised this you will see where I'm coming from. Do we not have the youngest roster in the NRL???? I see this as a rebuilding year after we cast off some of the cancers of 2011. I see Brian as the man to lead the team through this rebuilding phase. The club is employing a youth policy. We had a very high representation in the NYC SOO game the other week. If you started the year believing we will make the 8, in MY OPINION your expectations were too high. I did not start the year believing that. Making the 8 for me would be a bonus. The team is performing they way I EXPECTED it to - inconsistently with big highs and depressing lows. I am happy for Smithy to see out his contract. During 2013, as his contract is in the final year I will reassess my opinion. I have remained consistent on this issue since the start of 2011.

My only difference is IMO we are a 7-10 team, admittedly closer to 10 than 7 I'd guess.

Yes great post. Expecting 10th in the coaches 3rd season in charge says it all about the coach. But no, let's keep him so we can aim to be 9th next year
