As for nailing down another one-year extension, Billy Smith said: “They locked me in just before I came back [in May]. It’s just for next year. The club have been awesome to me.

“For them to say we want you for another year, before playing a game of footy, was pretty crazy for me.

“I didn’t expect it, but it goes to show the love and loyalty they have, and I’ll look to repay that faith over the next 18 months."

I generally like ur posts NFSK but that one is too far fetched for me.

Crichton is the best centre in the game IMO, hope Billy can be half as good. Pity S Crichton is going to the dogs to destroy his career.
Billy has great attacking potential however his defence and mental game let's him down...long way to go but improving with game time.

Mate, loyalty is just a word ... and these days contracts mean nothing and what people say in front of the cameras is just standard lip service.


I hope BS stays but as already mentioned, he might have realised that he's about to fall down the pecking order next season with Toia as the odds on favourite for the left centre spot.

Toia isn't even an established first grader. He's the one down the pecking order...but must be signed long term before another club grabs him.

Billy is big, strong, fast. Just won the Arthur Beetson medal. Surely he's not leaving....being allowed to leave, being moved on.
Toia could play left centre and Billy left wing to replace Toops. Young's position is right wing.
