  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Roosters

I’m fired up for tonight. The opposition hasn’t been great the last few weeks but you can only play what’s in front of you. There are signs of improvement and in a must win game you’d expect us to go all out to get the points. We have a star studded team who some of us thought would win us the comp this year so beating Parra without their half shouldn’t be a problem.

    GO ROOSTERS!

Roll on Roosters with no expectations it's unfamiliar territory as a Roosters supporter.

For better or for worse the Cows lost last night. A win would put us...

        - Ahead of the Eels

        - Even with Cows/Bunnies (with a shyte PD)

        - A point away from the Knights (who play Souffs, so at least one will likely lose)

It's frigging tight but I think the Knights might be in our crosshairs. They have Souffs, Sharks (probable loss) and Dragons (probable win).

        The way I see it...

        - If the Bunnies lose then we've got them sorted if we win our last 3.

        - If the Knights lose then unless they can beat the Sharks, we've got them sorted.

Bittersweet that Souffs play the Knights this week. However, I think the fact one will probably have to lose is grand.

Plenty of so called experts tipping the Eels based on being embarrassed last week.

I find that a little surprising,we should win this with the team we have running out there tonight!

Parra still have one of the best young players in the game in Dylan Brown and an incredible forward pack who have been their shining light this year. Young Asi is a good player aswell.

With that said, the momentum we have, plus the fact they don't have Mitch Moses and they are running with Lussick at hooker, we should have too much class. I see it being similar score to our last few wins, we leak 2-3 tries but score 26-30 points. Not great for our PD, but a win is a win at this stage.

If we lose to Parra without their marquee player and 1 week after Bronx absolutely shredded them, we can comfortably say we get what we deserve and belong nowhere near finals. I don't see Parra making it regardless of tonight's result.

The knights are a problem. If they beat the dragons, they still will be a point ahead as they have a draw game. We have to win all three remaining games.

Still a few ways we can make the 8 but I think we really need the Knights to knock over the Rabbits to have any hope of making the 8. Otherwise we are hoping the Knight loose to the Drag Queens in the last round and the sharks second last round and us winning all three of course. We could also make it if the Raiders loose all three but one of those is the Dogs so highly unlikely they don't get at least 1 win - their PD is worse than ours however so teams in the 8 we could most likely over take are Rabbits if the Knights get them this week. We can overtake both Knights and Raiders as well but it needs more than us just winning.

Great thread title; Roosters v Roosters. We’ve been our own worst enemy all year for a multitude of reasons, can we overcome our demons tonight?

I don’t look at the ladder at all. I hear all the commentary around and read on here but I just refuse to look at the table.

Yep it's painful to look at. If we win all three I reckon we are at least 50/50 to make the 8

Always half confident when we play Parra. They won't find us as potent and hard to defend as last weeks opponents. We need to find their weak spots to pile on some points in a must winner though. Lets hope Robbo and co. have a plan. Using Suaalii and Toups on those shallow cross kicks could be key.

We have put ourselves in this position.

Best of luck to Gus in his return and hope he finishes the year strongly.

Who would have thought Hutch and Brown would be head to head 7s in a season defining game for both teams. Revenge is a dish best served cold. Go the good guy.

I'd be more confident with Walker at halfback.
