  • Otesa's Odyssey: The Journey of a Teenage Superstar

Thirteen tries in nine games. Those numbers aren’t a stretch of form from Jayme Fressard or a run to the finals from Daniel Tupou.

They belong to the 2022 Tarsha Gale Cup’s leading try scorer, Otesa Pule.

After an astonishing 2022 season in the Tarsha Gale Cup, which she capped off with Premiership victory and a 50-metre try in the decider, 19-year-old Pule was rewarded with selection in the Kiwi Ferns squad for the World Cup.

She has continued her brilliant form to lock down a spot in the Roosters NRLW side.

Are you suggesting she’s a long term prospect to take over from Toops?

Gawd who ever heard of a name like Otesa? A made up like Taleesha. Some of these dimwit parents got a lot to answer for.
NZ had to introduce legislation that names needed to be submitted for approval after "Lula Does the Hula from Hawaai"- I kid yez not. What happened to Carol, Vicki, Eunice, Joy, Maureen, Myrtle and Cheryl fgs?

Otesa is actually an African name Paddo and is certainly not made up. It has a deeply spiritual meaning. As for the other names you've mentioned, perhaps tune into some 70's TV shows like the Brady Bunch or the original Charlie's Angels to get your fix.

Congratulations to one of our best and looking forward to the game tomorrow..
