  • When will the sydney roosters become a club that is not owned by a dictator?

I simply do not understand the concept of this club.

It is unalike any other NRLclub.

    We are not privately owned.
We are apparantly subsidised by the Easts Leagues Group.

Yet there are only 40 members of the football club.

    Think about it punters.
You cannot have a say in your own club unless you are invited.

Is Politis the roosters version of Saddam Hussein?

You are all too scared to voice your opinion?
And even if you do..........it wont matter!

Personally, I am sick of it.
If he did pump plenty of cash into the joint he aint doing it now.

How do supporters have their say?
    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Yes. Let the brilliant football minds on this forum make all the decisions. If there are disputes between members, let them fight to the death to determine who makes the final decision.

Bring it on now. I can't wait.

Well Trewhella, I was wondering where you were hiding, good to hear from you again.

Please do not turn up on here as an alias, carrying on like a complete A-wipe, as apparently one of our old sparring partners from the old days has done, stirring up hatred and malcontent. Only gave himself away when he went all sooky about an out of taste yiddish stereotype joke. I am no fan of such racial jokes, but goes to show some like to dish out abuse but get all up in arms if it is something that is close to their heart.

Keep posting. You have been missed.

Back to topic, Nick has not had a good decade overall with his negotiations. We were most severely derailed by the appalling behaviour of Mr Handshake, he of the "I am a rugby league genius, but if I lose I will make a show of carrying my disabled son back to the dressing room for the cameras to prove what a legend I am even when I lose".

Can you imagine the untold miscarriages of justice he has administered back in the old wild west days of the Queensland Police of the 1960s and 1970s?

A decent coach, but the unfair recipient of praise for coaching winning "club" teams that were comprised of Qld State of Origin sides or, in the pathetic case of St Merge, pantomime like proportion biased refereeing overseen by Robert Finch, a cheating referees' coach that not only did everything he could to get Merge a "premiership" (inverted commas intentional), but in the process punishing the club that dumped HIS spastic son.

How do we know that? I would rather have guys like Politis and Bouris and co running the show as apposed to punters... look at parra
IMO Politis is a legend and selfless

                Well,

                Let's look at the facts.

We are about level with respect to monetary value of player worth versus open market appraisal.

We were like Manly for years and years.

Players worth 300k plus to go toanother club, but apparently staying....." loyal " for far less......please don't sanctify me!

This means that we no longer fudge.

                I get it.

Plus the mentality of the football management to run raffles and ask for donations doesn't look good for a billionaire benefactor does it not!

                    And player 1,

The club has been using the Bennett excuse for far too long.

Even still, its Poiltis fault for the handling of the negotiation.

                    It's irony,
                    Blame a coach again!!

I assume ur talking about the gym donation? Slothfield had a go at them for that and I think Easts said that they wanted to give punters the oppertunity to help the club out financially... fair call some people do want to do that. Nothing wrong with that at all and its the right approach

I really find it hard to understand the whole making up of the Roosters.

When I was a kid going to the footy with my dad & brother it always seemed to me Eastern Suburbs Leagues club were the Roosters. Their were plenty of people that were members of the Leagues club but very few were Footy club members.

As things have progressed I now see the Roosters as a franchise who are given a grant by the NRL & then have to raise money themselves to cover all the cost of running a footy team. This money comes from sponsorship some money from the Leagues club & us the supporters through membership. But the membership gives you no power to vote board members on or off. When it comes to the footy club I dont know a thing about it, like if it has a board or a chief exective? For those who are members like myself Im not sure how the membership works. I am a member of what? a football team?
What board is Politis & Bouris on? The Leagues club board or the Footy club board

I dont know why the Rooster dont get their own club somewhere around East Sydney & have their own identification.
