Such a moronic play by him, we were well up and you just can't go near kickers anymore. Become an all too familiar occurrence at the end of year when the pressure is on that him or Radley can't control themselves and it hurts the team.

The media has done him no favours at all. They all show a freeze frame from the worst angle, at the worst moment, when it looks like he's hit him flush on the side of his neck/head. If you freeze the moment of contact on the NRL.com video of the incident, it is clear that first contact is JWH's chest on Api's shoulder. That contact drives Api sideways and Jaz's arm slips up and over Api's head. It is also only marginally late. He was committed to the tackle at the time Api contacted the ball with his foot. His biggest problem is he did not wrap his arms and take him to the ground safely. Had he done that, it wouldn't even have warranted a penalty. The (non)head butt is a joke. It happens pretty much every game with no consequences.
I'm not saying it wasn't dumb and unnecessary, but the reaction to both incidents has been completely over the top.
