This is all within 34 mins of footy BTW.
IMO it's a bit of a witch hunt and other players from other teams wouldn't get the same treatment/scrutiny. However we were up by 20+ and had the cue in the rack by the 65th minute.
Get that aggression's his thing but was this the moment for it? Probably not! In reality he came in late so didn't even stop the guy from getting the [pass/kick? I forget as it was so irrelevant] away. Shoulda just let it go as it wasn't a moment where we needed a big hit - if anything we needed him back in the defensive line rather than running off his line at a little bloke who had a 99% chance of getting the ball away from him (something the refs hate you doing due to the increased risk of dangerous contact).
Go smack their forward in the next tackle instead of put all your effort into our first yardage run off our line. An old rule of team sports is that you always go hard, but you don't bust a gut for nothing. This move was the very definition of busting a gut for no tangible benefit!!!

Dangerous contact grade 2 is challengeable. Yes JWH didn't need to put a hit on Api, a penalty and a sin bin would be a Fair penalty. The second charge is harder to defend as their is clear head movement and chargeable. I think downgrade first charge to a fine and accept 3 weeks for the second is worth a go. Six weeks or lose the downgrade of the first only would be only 7 weeks instead of 6 weeks. 3 weeks and a fine would be a 'good' result given the charges.

We'll be fine IMO. Love JWH but I think our depth's good enough that losing him SHOULDN'T hurt our chances significantly.
Longer minutes for May would interest me. Though, I appreciate that he seems to offer more value as an impact forward.
Big Pappy loves firing up against Souffs though. Noting this could well be his final game of NRL, I reckon he could be worth backing. Him instead of Brown coz he's a true prop and we've already got Wongie for versatility?Last edited by ism22; 08-27-2023, 01:07 PM.
