I remember Jack Gibson describing James Smith as deceptively slow. Classic.

No doubt he will be named Tuesday but come game day when the final team is named it would be very unlikely he will be part of the team.

Souths we should beat even without JWH & Manu as Souths seem to have imploded.
Win next week and we need all hands on deck in the finals. A fully fit Manu is required in the finals and playing him next week risk seeing him making the injury worse.

Cody Walker will have a field day. Hutch would be as effective as a witches hat!

Jessica Sergis had a similar injury and played the next week - Heavily strapped though

A Minor grade 1 strain can take a few days to heal

Feels like a risk trying to play him…. But unlike Robbo’s idiotic decision to play him in the pointless final round game last year this one is actually an elimination game so I think it’s worth it.

no point resting him if that means we lose, which I genuinely think we will without him. Our backup centres are woeful (Walker would tear Allen to shreds)

Wong will be on standby? Um no , Allen will play centre if Manu can’t back up.
I think they meant IF Manu plays, we could shift Wong out to centre should he break down, with Angus likely on the bench

Manu on the bench confirmed.....I mean this is the same coach that started Toops on 1 leg off the bench in a prelim

                    Nothing will surprise me

Why was it an idiotic decision to play Manu in the final round game last year?

because he reinjured his calf which he’d twinged earlier last year and was out for the elimination game the next week.

the talk was he’d be rested given the game meant nothing (we knew by kickoff that either way were playing Souths in week 1 of the finals). Instead he played, we won, and he got hurt.

Leave Manu out, he'll give us 20minutes at most before having to come off.

Possibly 2 other players will fail hia's and a send off.

There will be no bench players for the final 50minutes ffs.

Unfortunately, Joey won't play. Anyone who has had hammy issues knows unless its 100%, it'll just go again and worsen the injury. Its a frustrating niggle but it is what it is.

We can win without him and have him back as a welcome boost in finals.

IMO he gets named regardless as it means the opposition needs to prepare to play against him and he's able to play if fit (which he may well be... I'm not his doctor so have NFI about where he's at).

Casually as a runner, I've had calf/hammie strains that have cleared up in less than 7 days. Informally, I don't think it's impossible and often strains get better once you've warmed up (I'm run full marathons on calves/hammies that I thought were a bit tender a week out).

Let's just see who the coach picks and go from there.
