    ROOSTERS SQUAD v SOUTH SYDNEY

    Round 27 - Friday 1st September
    8:00pm Accor Stadium, Sydney

Dare to dream, Roosters. This is it, the final round, and a must-win shootout with our arch rival. We win this, and all we need is Canberra to lose in Cronulla, or the Cowboys to fail in Penrith. Both are very likely scenarios, and I'd be absolutely gutted if we won but neither of those eventuated.

But our assignment is to beat South Sydney, the so-called "Pride of the League". Bullshit!! The Vermin are a vaccuuos, leech of a club, without a solitary redeeming feature. I wonder how many dogs, cats & budgies will turn up to the members section to support 'their team'. LOL. They are missing Latrell, who is a mighty attacking threat, and a huge defensive weakness. I'm not sure how to feel about his absence, the way he's been playing it might be better if he plays, but then again, you just KNOW that he would lift big-time against us.

A couple of changes for us this week, as expected. Teddy returns but we are likely to be without Manu. He's been named to keep Souths guessing, but has to be in serious doubt. Expect Allan to play right center.
JWH is out for a minimum 3 weeks, so we see Baker start with Chrichton added to the bench. I would have liked to see Whyte.
Lindsay needs another huge game, just like he did a fortnight ago against Parra (68 min, 164m & 34 tackles). Look for him to fill the large Jaz-shaped hole in our pack. We should be good enough, but these games worry the hell out of me. Both teams will be desperate. I'll need a few extra beers for this one.

Ref is Adam Gee. Klein is in the Bunker, of course. FFS

    GO EASTS !!

I was really hopeful E Butcher would kick on this season. I prefer him as a prop rotation but he sees too often play on an edge.
For me Whyte has gone past him ( and Crichton)

        In other relevant news:
        • Penrith have named a full-strength team, but they could easily swap a bunch of players out with the extended bench after the result of the Bronco's - Storm game is known on Thursday night.
        • Nicho has been named for Cronulla, and Papalii is out for Canberra for the season with a bicep injury.

It is time for us to pay these P RICKS back for that belting they gave us in 2020 or 2021 ??

          Let's play FINALS Roosters.

That side can win, but if there is ANY doubt about Joey making it through the game we have to go with Allen.
I hope Angus can have a big one, but on recent performances Whyte must be unlucky to miss out.
I understand he is going with experience..... let's hope it works.

Yeh good news that both have named full strength sides.

None of it matters if we don’t win though.

Yep, but I guess if we do win...Souths are def out regardless.....a consolation prize for a dissppointing season! So we can at least celebrate the win if we get it to some degree!!!

I think we all know that the Tuesday named side doesn't mean shit but I'm hoping for the following:

Napa instead of Baker (who remembers in 2016 when he took on the entire Souths pack and belted the shit out of Sam Burgess ? ... ah good times, I think he could pull off one of those, albeit he's a bit slower but he's helluva a lot more aggressive than Baker !)

Whyte instead of Angus (just can't trust Angus at the moment ... a bit risky. This sort of game would give Whyte a real opportunity to shine and prove himself !).

I think they will play their best game all season. They will galvanise with all the shit of the last two weeks.

We can still win but I just hope Manu is 100% and plays or I feel this will be our last game.

For mine Napa is a no unfortunately. Engine is not there and lack of lateral movement will make him a huge target for Cook. Hopefully what Robbo has learnt from the past two years is the let Souths burn themselves out with intent and aggression and calmly after 20 minutes get on with the task at hand. I would also start with Sandon and Fletcher and put Crighton in as the hurt factor and he saps the energy from forwards with his strong runs. Get Wong to run really hard at Walker.

In other relevant news… the broncos have named a second rate side for Thursday night against the storm. Must be noted also that the storm side is also missing a number of stars.

Hopefully the broncos lose which will mean Clearly won’t rest anyone so the panthers can lock up the minor P.

This is all irrelevant if we don’t beat South’s though.

                            Come on CHOOKIES!!!!
