  • Might be an unpopular opinion

But we are better off with the suspension of JWH.

never thought I would consider this but in recent seasons having both he and Radley on the field together is a ticking time bomb, they are targeted by the opposition and easily baited into stupidity, the pair of them are targeted by official every bloody game, every tackle the only 2 names the ref screams out are Jared and Victor. Together they give away countless penalties and 6 agains.

the other important aspect is the passion they play with boils over to insanity which leads to the inevitable brain snap, they are baited into it everytime and fall for it everytime, Souffs have pulled our pants down over and over again because our emotions get the better of our players and they turn to jelly at the first sign of adversity, we haven’t the calming heads of a Cronk, Cords, Mini, Friend, and it has shown. We are vulnerable under pressure.

still love the bloke but we are better off with cooler heads

Get what you're saying. Also it might be a lesson for him after he misses the Vegas game (and for the NRL - I honestly think pushing for the 2 charges without asking why Koroisau got up and started a scuffle & Tigpies players all came in was a BS call).

That said, I never wanna be without players. He's an important part of our team and I don't think we have the same depth without him. Whereas with him, Robbo can choose how to use him best (or rest him if we're honestly better without him).

Based on Cheese's discussions on Jam & Cheese, prepping for Souffs is now more like any other game. IMO in previous years Robbo bought into the media hype and it led to us always being out of character when playing Souffs. I honestly couldn't care less about their current squad. There's no beef between us and (for example) Murray, Campbell Graham, Cook, Koloamatangi and Walker. It's just another team with no book of modern feuds, except phone chucker's d-grade manuscript about whatever (never read it and never will). Based on early season fitness form they were tipped to be top-4 easily. Now they're out of sorts and on form, we just need to show up and put them outta their misery. Nothing personal, they're just another shyte team that (like the Eels and Manly) needs somebody to escort them into the basement-level hotel so that they can enjoy their Mad Monday without interruptions.

Great player once but JWH is now a liability and no good to himself or us so I’m all for early retirement. How many times has he done this? This time a whopping 7 match suspension for what? We need to let him go asap and employ players who want to play footy not fight. It’s sad but he’s a grown man and by now you’d think he’d grown up but sadly still has the mentality of a 5 year old which is no good for professional footy. I personally dread his return next season as he’s a player that never learns and we need next season to get on with it not more send offs and sin bins which he undoubtedly will provide us with.

I bet Souths are happy JWH isn't there.
Honestly all the bullshiit carry on about a Roosters legend is sickening.
I think we can win without JWH, but the 7 week suspension is an absolute joke.
And the ones piling on the bandwaggon of bagging JWH really have no fukking clue what they are on about.

I'm not worried about Souffs. We should beat them without him.

Our pack will struggle without JWH in the finals.

I'm so disappointed with his silly brain snap! Opposition teams will now be calling him "old man" to get under his skin.

Totally disagree, I bet they wish he was playing, they have had his measure in recent years, they know how to set off his ticking time bomb and use it too advantage on and off the field, he isn’t washed up by any means, I’m sure he will bin and around the team in the lead up to this game and hopefully other finals matches to come, we do not need to piggy back these muppets with piggy back penalties and extra motivation.

At least we're not any real hope of going far into the finals. Would have been worse if we were in contention.

I think when he's truly on, he is the best prop in the game. He hasn't really shown much of that this season but we are always a better side with him in it.

We lack a bit of mongrel now, but maybe its for the best given we have tried to win via street fight the last few times we have played Souffs. It never ends well, especially when they have an extra player on their team most weeks that carries a whistle around.

I think we have a better performing team at the moment than them and whilst Latrell has been off the boil this season, he is still a special player on his day and in a one-off game, can look like an immortal. There are really no excuses for us to lose this game, especially with Teddy back. Manu out hurts, but Latrell out is bigger for them. They're also missing Burgess so its fairly even in terms of troops out. We are playing better than them and they've leaked an average of 26 points a game or something in the last 2 months of footy. Something is not right over at that joint and now its time for us to exploit it and send them home.

We have nothing to lose given Souffs were in a far better position to make the 8 a few weeks ago than we were. We have played ourselves into outside contention, Souffs have played themselves out of contention. Pressure is all on them.

Any chance the club knew he was gonna get 6 weeks and fought it, knowing he would get an extra week if they lost, to ensure his 300th would be played in Aus?

Less chance of a sin binning no doubt but Crichton is a huge downgrade on JWH.

Maybe jwh could swap with Brett Morris and run the messages and drinks during the game! Would love to see souths faces w JWH running on with messages. And would give our boys a lift! Would be gold..

We miss Jaydub big time. One area I think Souths shade us is the bench rotation in the forwards...Arrow, Duncan Sele and Moale from the bench will keep their middle momentum going. A lot of pressure on Lindsay to be the best prop on the field on Friday and play quality minutes.

I agree completely, but this lapse in judgement would be the worst in his career in my opinion. There was no reason for the late hit or the carry on, the game was won and the season in the balance. That carry on should be out of his game,
