  • How Tough Love Upbringing Prepared May for Success

Sydney Roosters forward Terrell May grew up running hills in Western Sydney and doing video analysis alongside his brothers Tyrone and Taylan before he was 10 years old.

His father Jay’s passion for the game and tough love has made the 24-year-old rising star who he is today, but May also recognises he wouldn’t be playing rugby league if his brothers didn’t challenge him to work harder.

I hope he carries his recent form into the game tomorrow. He could be the difference against a tiring Souffs pack.

Love how he's cleaned up his appearance and gained a bit of confidence in himself. It's like this has all coincided with him coming outta his shell and finding some massive form.

His numbers are simply ridiculous for a prop. What more can I say? Per minute played he's one of our most effective players IMO, which isn't easy because the less minutes you play, the harder it is to impress.

What a story too! Hope he stays here and goes far.

Geez 35kgs during COVID is a fair effort.

Seems like a good bloke, has done well at the back end of this year. I hope he can kick on again next year and really embed his position in the 17.

Great effort taking it off too ay? If anything I reckon he looks a good sorta lean these days. Wouldn't say he's carrying any excess fat for man that size. Admirable!

He was so dominant in reserves. Anyone could see he was a great prospect. Hopeful he continues to develop into a starting prop.

Terrell has the makings to be one of the best front rowers in the game going forward, if he stays motivated.

I don't want him to get poached by Penriff because he would be an absolute beast out there. We should lock him up long term. He is a damaging runner and despite his brothers sins in the past, seems a very quiet bloke. We should've tried to get Taylan May aswell.

He's got some serious quality about him. He needs to bring it tonight.

May has been improving steadily this year. I hope he keeps progressing.
