  • Would be a damn shame

    If we missed the finals.

I've been critical of our defence all year. But the Bondi Wall of 2013 is rearing its head again. And we have momentum on our side.

I reckon many of those above us are looking over their shoulder.

      I dunno Jaxxx.
There’s some bloke called Trent who is sure to shoulder some of the blame.

Yes... Souffs only scored two largely unpreventable tries off piggy-back penalties. Same for Tigpies, Eels, Dolphins and probably a few others.

We've made the most tackles in the league by quite a distance, tackling ain't our problem it's our disdain for possession. Once Robbo finally adapts to the rules we'll be quite good as our defense is there, we're just trying to depend on it which doesn't suit the rules anymore.

I reckon we make the finals and will be a bit of a dark horse. Players like Wong, May and Sualli who are all in form should relish it if we get there and have nothing to lose. Then combine that with the experience of Teddy, Keary, Victor, Gus and Collins and Sammy maybe feeling he has a point to prove (not to mention the Cheese who has had a bit of a bagging) It's a bit of a free hit if you ask me despite what Robbo said in the presser.

Agreed mate. That said, I think the top-4 (aside from the Warriors) are probably too dense this year for us to do any real damage.

Given the top-4 is basically set I think a fair prediction can be made. Where would we sit? 7th or 8th...

                  Elimination Finals
                  - 7th we would be in elimination final 2 and 8th we'd be in elimination final 1.

                  Elimination/Qualifying finals
                  - If we win elimination final 1, we would play the loser of 1st and 4th (probably Broncos & Warriors, with the Warriors getting belted).

                  - Whereas elimination final 2 would put us up against the loser if 2nd and 3rd (Storm and Penrith? No thanks!)

                  Preliminary Finals
                  - Come 8th then come preliminary finals we would cross-over to playing the winner of 2nd and 3rd (probably Panthers?)

                  - Come 7th and we'd play the winner of Broncos/Warriors here (Broncos).

                  GF
                  - Sigh... cross-over again and play (probably) another top-4 team.

Due to our low completion rates, we have had plenty of opportunity to practice our defence. Great to see it’s back.

If you dont beat Penrith or Melbourne in an elimination....you dont win the comp. Better to beat them early...Yes please. But you know what? Its a moot point. Were cannon fodder. And if we dont make it its not a shame...its just a bad middle part of the season. We can blame ourselves. Inconsistency doesnt win you jack.

Yes I don't think the order matters that much. You've gotta beat them no matter what.

                        Let's see how it goes!!!!

IMO Souffs were legitimately shyte (dunno why but something's clearly going down within the Bunnies' HQ). If the refs hadn't been so sympathetic towards their sloppiness, I think we woulda put a serious cricket score on them.

Rant but we got ZERO six agains against Souffs. ZERO! This is in a game where they were sloppy as hell and the ref kept singling out Souffs players to say 'DO THAT AGAIN AND IT'S A PENALTY!!!' Souffs weren't 'malicious', they were just farking sloppy as. I swear if the scores were reversed and we were playing like Souffs, the refs woulda been pinging us all over the place.
