    ROOSTERS SQUAD v CRONULLA SUTHERLAND

    Finals Week 1 - Saturday 9th September
    7:50pm PointsBet Stadium, Sydney

Hard to believe we not only made the finals, but actually finished 7th. Now the real serious footy begins. No second chances for us, every game is do or die, just like teh last 5 weeks - so we should be used to the pressure of these games.

The Sharks have been hot & cold throughout the season, but on their day are formidable opponents.

I'm confident that our D can frustrate them, and their game will eventually break down.

Manu returns as expected, the remainder of the side is as per last week.

No Klein, but we get Gerry.

    GO EASTS !!

I'm excited and I think we'll win. But I'd like to remind you all of the ref's performance the last time we played the Gummies at their postage stamp sized swamp of a stadium. We lost the penalties 14-4, had three players sent to the sin bin and had a fair try overturned by the bunker.

This type of punishment by referees doesn't happen that much in semi finals, but you never know.

ah, gerry sutton. but wgaf - we get a slightly under average deal from the refs but what can you do about it.
obviously manu's a big in. roosters injury report says he's 'recovered' from the hammy so he should be good to go. he's a big in and their fullback might be a big out. kennedy's on their bench so have to wait and see. sharks were poor last week but they didn't have much to play for - once kris was sent off some coaches would have told the sharks to have lost the game and face a weakened raiders the next week. nor fitzy - sharks will be more focused this week. still, we're looking good

I think we can 100% win this we just need to get on the board early and start fast. Sharks this season are a momentum team.
they put on tries in quick succession.

If we can get the early lead hopefully we can bring out their frustrations and the rest will be history.

Hate Sutton (the smiling assassin, my least fave ref), hate Shark Park and hate night footy esp there.

Overcome these obstacles we should be fine. We got ourselves into this mess by not finishing higher up the ladder.

How this game isn't held at Allianz is beyond me ... what a piss-take !

Yeah nah ... let's host an elimination final game at a construction site (stadium) venue that looks worse than bloody Whalan Reserve (out near Mt Druitt) ... can't wait to see "2300 people" pack out the stadium !

Should have held it Allianz and allowed the Sharks to have the home ground advantage ... worst case, hold the bloody game at a neutral venue like Accor Stadium ffs !

Anyways, solid side ... happy to see Manu back ... we will win !

The Sharks finished higher on the ladder and earnt a home final simple as that

It's not Eden Park where the Wallabies haven't won since 1986.

100 Premiership games between the Roosters and Sharks

Roosters have won 63 lost 35 and 2 draws

Cronulla will put up a fight.
They have won 4 of their last 5 with similar for and against to us.
They are at home and it's do or die.
We have to be right on our game.
In saying that I think we will win in a close game.

His style or interpretation of the the rubbery rules suits the way we are currently playing.

That's not the point I've made and your response has missed what I've implied.

Irrespective of where the Sharks have finished on the ladder, the game being played of this magnitude deserves to be held at a better, well-equipped and larger capacity venue. This would benefit viewers on TV, spectators attending, both clubs from a ticket sales perspective and overall the NRL.

I know we can win (as I've stated in my original comment) so I'm not concerned about our chances or the past stats etc.

Interesting and should be acknowledged that Wong is consistently holding his spot in the second row. The guy was playing Flegg last year. Congratulations
