sad news about sergis - assuming she's been named because we've run out of players. still if we can get her back for the finals then that will be good and fressard is a good replacement. yeah, we win this and the mp is ours and we can rest players for the last game - davis might be a good one to rest given that she's slotted to play dh for the full 70 for so long as we're in the running.
a pity they couldn't have switched the game to sunday so that the girls could have played in front of a bigger crowd with the knights men also playing. wouldn't have advantaged.us but would have been good for the game.
knights have a good side - the southwell sisters, a good pack and upton always dangerous at the back and this will be our biggest test so far

Round 8 Match Preview: Top Two Test

The Sydney Roosters will head North on Saturday to face the Newcastle Knights in a thrilling top-of-the-table clash.

Recent History: Sydney Roosters vs Newcastle Knights

Saturday's match marks the third encounter between the Roosters and Knights, with the Tricolours defeating the defending Premiers in both March and September last year.

In their first clash at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the Red, White and Blue piled on six tries, with winger Brydie Parker claiming a double.

            Roosters Ready For Top-of-the-Table Test

Roosters star Isabelle Kelly expects injured teammate Jess Sergis to be back for the NRLW finals as the side deals with an injury toll that could threaten their premiership hopes.

Sergis underwent surgery for a fractured finger this week after her hand was caught awkwardly upon landing when scoring a try in the side’s win over the Eels on the Central Coast.

It is hoped the NSW and Jillaroos centre can get back on the field in the coming weeks but leaves the side with a third of their top squad on the sidelines ahead of a top-of-the-table clash against Newcastle on Saturday.

good luck to lily rogan and good to see fressard seems to have recovered - makes the loss of sergis kind of manageable.
looking forward to this one and hope that it's a rehearsal for the gf

Hard to see us beating the Knights without Sergis and now Millie Boyle

NRLW Head Coach John Strange has finalised his team to take on the Newcastle Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium today.

One change has been made to the line-up ahead of kick-off, with Grace Hamilton named to start at prop after Millie Boyle was ruled out with a shoulder complaint.

Teuila Fotu-Moala moves onto the interchange, while Lexi Kiriwi is the Roosters' 18th player in jersey no.19.

Lily Rogan is locked in to make her NRLW debut as Sydney Rooster #76 off the bench.

Next player up: Grace Hamilton has been playing well, and Teuila Fotu-Moala has been unlucky not to be in the 17 each week, which is a testament to the squad depth, so they will adjust their game, I assume, to compensate.

Good to see Lily Rogan get a run - Good Player in the Women's NSW Cup for the Illawarra Steelers.

Keeley Davis will need to play 70 minutes will no second dummy half on the bench.

Plenty of effort from the girls but clunky in attack, Aiken needs to start using her running game if they are going to win this game.

Good test today for Easts. Knights up for the challenge but you can see why we are premiership faves. It gets back to the coaching and those big metres we make out of our end, then the resilient defence when it matters. Topped off with the class of Aiken. They've contained her so far but hard to do for the whole game.

Think our marker got called out in the Knights try which jolted our line, but big skill from Upton.

Classy work from Kernick and Baxter in our try.

Mya Hill-Moana went off with what looked like a ankle injury and I think Otesa Pule HIA - No update as yet - Hopefully both will be okay.
