  • Reasons we will beat Cronulla?

I'm mildly confident but can't put my finger on 5 good reasons that Easts will triumph on Saturday night.

    1. Walker is playing
    2. Drew Aubusson isn't playing
    3. KKKlein is not the ref
    4. They'll do it for JWH
    5. ????
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

just to balance things out, here are 5 good reasons we won't win.

    1. Manu will pull up injured and cause a reshuffle
    2. Teddy or Keary will cop a head knock
    3. no jwh
    4. their forward pack will completely dominate us
    5. we will not be able to compete with the speed of the sharks backline

If we can show enough resilience defensively to weather the lack of possession in the first half and keep it close at oranges like I hoped last week,

Then we'll go close to snatching it.

Building off that point... during an interview I saw yesterday, Keary said that he expected us to shut-out Souffs based on how our defence was rolling. He said our defence is now where it needs to be and he's hoping to show us the attack we're capable of this week.

          I'm getting pretty excited...

I think we will beat Cronulla because they are known to be a bit of a flat track bully side. They are good with their attacking shapes but become a little bit formulaic when that doesn't work. Hynes struggles with pressure building kicks and is one of those halves that likes to get to the shape as quick as possible and be all out attacking with the way they move their team around the park. He lacks that pressure-building, long kicking, field possession style of play at the moment. Trindall is half decent at that but still learning.

They are known to concede points relatively quickly and be one dimensional in attack. Their one dimension they have is very very slick and fast moving when its on, with Nikora, Ramien, etc. but when that doesn't work, they have little else. Kennedy and possibly Tracey out would be huge for them. We will likely win well if they are out and they need to play Moylan.

We have so much more upside and seemingly more defensive resolve now, so I see us winning by 10-12 points.

I'm expecting us to lift to another gear and start to flex our muscles ... Roosters by 13+

it's not a gimme but we're favourites in my book. we've got momentum. our defence is not far off premiership winning level and our attack has been getting into gear for a month now

                    Moylan worries me.

They can’t tackle. If we complete at 80% and the refs don’t turn one on we will win. And possibly win well.

All our big players are in good form too.

He would worry me more if I was a Sharks fan. Don't like him, but I think they are pretty confident Tracey will play.

How? He’s one of the worst players in the comp. Sharks fans hate him.

                            His defence is atrocious.

My mates a sharks supporter and he does admit they can turn in hot and cold performances.

So they're due for a cold one after winning last week
