Man it's bizarre what's going on over there.
Gus is not buying quality, he's buying quantity.

Read an article recently that the Dogs were trying to remove players from losing clubs with losing mentalities (Including the majority of their own players) and instead replace them with players from bigger clubs who come from winning systems, not sure how true that is but it'd make a lot of sense with the likes of Crichton, Salmon and Taaffe all being signed having played in grand finals over the last couple years and them being linked to the likes of Hutch, Turpin, SST, Faamausili and Kurt Mann who all come from winning teams.

Personally I don't think Hutch or Turpin are bad pick ups for them as depth, after all if they're good enough for a team like ours then they'll be good enough for a team that is less successful, SST will be a good bench player for them for a year or two, Faamasuli isn't bad either and Kurt Mann is handy if he remains injury free. Crichton, Salmon and Taafee are all good pick ups also.

As for us losing Turpin, he did well this year but if he is indeed the third string hooker for us then probably best to go and play second string at the Dogs where he'll likely get some game time in 2024 instead of here where he'd probably play a whole heap of NSW Cup.

Turps is good enough to be their 9. Good to see him get some coin

Our back up dummy halves are:

            Watson, S Smith
            and

            Michael Coleman
            Thomas Deakin
            Tyler Moriarty

I think he wont be much of a loss.

I will look forward to our game against the Dogs next year, hopefully they run out with Hutch and Turpin.

shouldn't count out Alan Holten either, still very young but this kid can play!

As others have said this is obviously a big vote in confidence for Tyler Moriarty. Central Coast junior who has come through the pathways, played NSW U19’s and Robinson had highlighted him during COVID as one who was training with the First Grade squad whilst he was still in high school so always had really big wraps on him.

Only played the 11 reserve grade games to date (2 last year, 9 this year), hasn’t played since Round 10 due to a herniated disc he had to get surgery on.

I think you will find that the Hutchinator will be the number 7 at the Dogs if the sad news is true that he has signed with the Dogs.

It's going to be tough times for many coping without the Hutchinator in the red. white and navy blue

I think the dogs are top 8 next year with Hutch at 7.
