I thought his ball playing was on point tonight, not sure why people use his ball playing as a stick to beat him with.

He was brilliant tonight, you appreciate the value of players like him the tighter games get. Thought he & Collins were a cut above tonight.

          It’s the meditation.

Jesus he was good tonight. You could see him building to a performance like that the last couple of weeks. Man of the Match tonight for mine. The guy is a proper footballer and one of the best players in the comp.

Because his power running game has been non existent for an extended period while he was trying to be a 3rd half/link man. When he puts it away for a while he is immense carrying the ball...in turn that then holds up the defense on him that little bit longer and he can then play ball.!!!

That sounds like good halfback play?

He's definitely gone up another level over the last two months and his balance of play around run/pass is better I just don't understand the criticism of his ball playing.

Played himself to a standstill tonight . He loves this club and would play for free I reckon . Great player . Collins has been incredible for us since origin as well .

ffs 6, do you have to pick a pedantic "I know better" fight about everything? People are just saying how great he's going running the ball more. That's all.

Thats what we need from Vic, hard runs and hard hits, and plenty of them. Well done.

The title of the thread is "when you stop being 7".

Since when did debating the topic of the thread become pedantic?

I thought Vic played the link role more tonight than he has in the past few weeks. They all need to play tighter through the middle to create more space on the edges. The balance between the two was better

The key is just playing what he see's in front of him, different games will present different opportunities. Given how quickly the Sharks defence was rushing up, dropping some passes out the back to a second receiver was always a good option, especially in good ball tonight.

His emotional and mental state is the best it has been in many seasons, he's far more measured and disciplined defensively and after the early obstruction penalty was direct and punchy in possession.

This is the Victor we need.
