Right centre will potentially be our weakest link. The Storm will be running plays down that edge all night.

I'd be picking the best defensive right centre. Perhaps Momo who has big game experience?

Storm could have 5 changes from the team which lost to the Broncos.
Obviously Paps and Coates out, but also Seve, Loiero and Eisenhuth all had HIA's
Now we have no Manu and Suaalii, I would seriously consider Wong moving to centre with Brown or Whyte coming in
plus put Allen on the wing.
Alternatively Allen straight to centre and maybe Paulo on the wing??
Don't know if Toops is anychance of coming back in, which would be great obviously.
There are plenty who are playing with injuries, including Teddy and Walker and Brandon Smith.
Certainly makes it harder, but we are still a chance if we play with the heart the boys showed last night.

The Storm performance was abysmal v the Broncs. No answers re Walsh and the big pack monstered by an equally big pack, but the standout for me was Munster's night. He must be injured or mentally jaded atm because his impact compared to the past was just about nil. My worry is the No. 7, Hughes, who tried hard against the Broncs and who always has a good game against the RWB. Was he ever in our junior system Salvo?

With Manu gone again, who is our fringe strike player apart from Smiff? I'm calling in Hutch. Seriously hard to see a win here being in Melbourne and all but the Chooks are, at last, a team so that may count for something.

Keep Wong further in. He was struggling defensively out there last night. The Storm are much more methodical and will tear him to shreds.
100% Vas. You hit the nail on the head. Wong was struggling in D..I could not believe Sharks didnt throw more at him.

Yes, let’s put Hutchison in the centres where he has been absolutely shredded on numerous occasions. Insane suggestion and I would hope Robinson has learnt from time before where he has been killed in that spot against Melbourne and Souths in key games. I have no problems with him plugging holes in the halves- his actual position, but the centres is not the go, as cited by every time he has had to play there. Not quick enough to read the play, horrible reactions and has got turned inside out many times. You can go the following; Pauga/Smith + Paulo/Wong or Pauga/Smith + Paulo/Allen or Pauga/Smith + Allen/Wong.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Sandon Smith in the run on side.

NRL Physio reporting he is out due to the mandatory 11 day standdown clause, as he had a prior concussion within the past 3 months.

Allan in the wing and Wong at centre with Whyte coming on the bench.
                          Momo is fn hopeless
and hutch is not a centre

I was going to start this as a topic but do not know how .

at what point , given the turbulent nature of our 2023 season, does it become a success?

my personal take is that if by chance we get past Melbourne ( it's a big if? ) robbbo gets a tick . prelim is b+ and a pat on the back from nick .

anything less then where we are would have been a fail imo .

                            thoughts chookpenners ?

Coach Robinson gets a tick as the side made the finals simple as that

If you drill down it's been some effort considering the games the possible best 17 players missed during the year and the indifferent form of a host of players across the season.

You need your best possible 17 playing the bulk of the season with others playing a handful of games here and there across the season

Big Jack Gibson would never pick a replacement player in back to back games for instance - Coach Robinson had no choice in picking squad players outside the best possible 17 for blocks of games

JWH/Sitili/Watson/Toops/Momirovski all unavailable vs Sharks adds to the number of games a possible best 17 have missed and now add Manu and Suaalii to the list for the next finals game vs Storm

                                That's 7 players unavailable now

Take the equivalent 5 or 7 players out of the Panthers/Broncos/Storm/Warriors/Knights/Raiders teams and how would they go including the equivalent players the Roosters had unavailable for periods during the season.

Some on here either can't get their heads around the above or purely have an axe to grind against Coach Robinson for a range of reasons we have seen. - anything from his stance on inclusiveness , discrimination to asking not to boo certain players and anything in between.

I do think some maybe taking the piss as they say but I am sure there are others who do have an intense dislike of Coach Robinson

I will also back the Coaching Staff and Players myself through thick and thin 100%
