It doesn't work like that besides our health system is no longer what it use to be so you're rolling the dice with the public system. I don't want no intern import operating on me.

      Your wrong Batesy.
I was operated on by the top Ortho doctor at Concord Hospital after I flew back from Vanuatu with a broken leg.

100% but Batesy googled it & saw it cost $30k so he must be right.

With a supposed crackdown on what players were able to get away with back in the day, and all the head injuries stuff nowadays, why on earth would you allow a rortable loophole like this that reduces the only thing the player care about - missing games.
So are you saying that players should still be available to play rep footy if they are suspended from club footy?

Not saying I disagree but if you didn’t let rep footy count towards suspensions you’d be penalising them twice.

Ok so Billy Smith was rushed to casualty where he sat patiently for 6 hours for his free Jaw Surgery. FFS!

Mate, Manu is a family friend and his medical expenses after his surgery were $31k which the Roosters( not the nrl) insurance covered.

NRL players don't go through the public system.

I heard Luke Lewis on the radio (I can no longer bring myself to say abc) when they were talking about Ryan Papenhuyzen after he had that awful 2nd injury the other night...they had his manager Clinton Shifcofske on explaining the medical process from the time the injury occurred, and Ryan had his ankle op the morning after the game, and Luke Lewis was saying that in his day it was the same - you would always be having any required procedure immediately, there was no waiting. And the radio audience were texting in whining "how come he gets seen to so fast and the rest of us have to wait??"

One can only imagine the insurance premiums and injury associated costs with running a collision sport monolith like the NRL. Of course the players get seen to immediately, ffs.

It has been the case for the last couple of seasons that a player who would have been a definite selection in a rep team
if not suspended can use those rep game he misses as part of his suspension.
I think it was used for someone who missed an origin game.

Yeah I know. BB Rooster is saying rep games shouldn’t count. But I think that’d be unfair if they didn’t because then you could potentially miss twice as many games.

Fair point. Let them play rep footy. It's an NRL suspension. Don't intertwine the 2 in any way

I’d be happy with that. The only drama is if they get suspended during a rep game is that it shouldn’t affect club. It should be weighted differently too as rep games serve more importance (3 origins/year vs 24 club games/year).
