I have to say I was disappointed in Smith's start the game tonight but he got better as the game went on. My concern is he seems to be either full effort or no effort, if you breakdown the Storms first try he was at the heart of it all.
6:02 - Nick Meany almost breaks the line due to lazy chase from Brandon Smith.
6:15 - Wishart gets a penalty after Brandon Smith pushes him over in the ruck.
7:35 Wishart runs past Keary and Brandon Smith for a soft opening try.
Given how tight the game was this run of plays that gifted Melbourne the field position just can't be accepted if we want to be a serious threat next year.
Below is a photo of his kick chase effort, I'm referring to, there was a point where he was basically just jogging on the spot. It's these little efforts, or rather lack of that I notice from him that concern me the most... you just can't be doing that 6 minutes into a game, there's no excuse.

Brandon is a player that goes 100% as much as he can, this drains him and not a 80 minute player. thats fine.
he started off the year slow cause he hadn't played hooker properly in well over a year or so, then got injured. hes shown the last couple months that he understands what the team needs and when to inject himself.
next year will be exciting

That’s how I feel. I don’t know if it’s just laziness, fitness or if he has mental lapses but he has little moments where it’s like he’s turned off. He played really well though, and there is a lot of upside and promise with him if we gain maintain form like that for most of next year.EASTS TO WIN!

Cheese has been great for us in the back end of the year as he has got his fitness up, he's only behind Api and alongside Kenny as defensive rakes in my book.

A good off season & an injury free run & it will be a different story next season. He’s not a midget Hooker & plays like a forward 20kg bigger than he is which is a big advantage.
In comparison Harry Grant started from the bench, never really got his game on and was lying down trying to milk penalties the whole time.
I know which player I preferred on the night...
