These figures could also be because of the lack of support from other players for the ball carrier to progress the play and the way Coach Robinson wants them to play.

I remember a couple of times vs. Storm where N Butcher turned in the tackle looking for support and no other players were there. - same with other players during the game, which was not a one-off occurrence just in this game; it happened throughout the season with the lack of support for the ball carrier.

The Boyd Cordner all or nothing one out charge at the line has well and truly had it's day - Ultimately contributed to Boyd's early retirement with the multiple head knocks he took in this play.

Ball carriers need players in support as options and also ball playing and offloading skills.

Way too easy in D for the opposition in defending one out runs by ball carriers compared to runs by ball carriers who have other players in support. - Has the D in two minds

The Roosters were never a high offloading side, although it has somewhat improved. The season average was 9; the Storm game of 17 offloads was a season high.

The Roosters need to work on upskilling the players in ball-playing, offloading, and support play, among other things.
Players that run the suicide line like Boyd Cordner did deserve to be paid danger money.

But at least he's been there and done it before, just depends what mindset he comes into the 2024 season with.
Don't think Robbo agrees with you...he praised the input of the bench Fletch, May and Gus specifically.

And that's not a shot at Nat Butcher, I'm a huge fan of his and he would be my starting front rower alongside Collins next season but I think we need to create more points and our edge backrowers just didn't contribute enough this year to our ability to put points on the board.

N Butcher with 7 try involvements in 24 games
E Butcher with 4 try involvements in 21 games
Siua Wong with 3 try involvements in 10 games
Tupouniua with 2 try involvements in 8 games
Crichton with 1 try involvement in 13 games
Have you seen the new salary cap structure mate, seems like there is going to be a lot of cap space cleared especially for clubs like us and Penrith. Only 5% of JWH contract value will be counted against the cap. 10%for Tupou, and only 10% for guys like Joey the Butcher brothers Sitili etc. Could be several million allup.

          If you're talking the 2nd rowers who contribute most to their sides attack;

          1. H. Olakau'atu 22 try involvements
          2. D. Fifita 21 try involvements
          3. B. Nikora 17 try involvements
          4. L. Fitzgibbon 15 try involvements
          5. B. Cartwright 15 try involvements
          6. E. Katoa 14 try involvements
          7. S. Sorensen 14 try involvements
          8. H. Young 13 try involvements
          9. K. Capewell 11 try involvements
          10. L. Martin 10 try involvements

I'm not saying try involvements are the be all and end all they just support my observation that our attacking shape needs some work, now the halves need to take a lot of responsibility for that also and there's combinations that would improve with more continuity for sure. I just don't think Nat Butcher has another level in him as a second rower where as I can see him being a rep level player in the front row, what he lacks as a second rower he makes up in other areas of his game so I'm never going to be disappointed to see him in the second row because you know exactly what you're going to get I just think we need to be a little more ambitious.

I would find it hard to believe that upon rewatching the game that he wouldn't be open to changing his mind on that stance. There was really nothing to like about Angus's game on Friday night, he was playing more like an AFL ruckman than an NRL second rower.

My horse trainer mentioned it over the phone to me this morning, said its in the paper. Yeh sounds crazy would mean somene like Cleary and DCE could be on the cap for 140k on a 1.4m contract

That's amazing. You found a horse trainer that can read and tells the truth. Might be time for a swab me thinks.

I did hear on the channel 9 footy show about proposed changes to the 10 day cooling off period

Players intending to sign with another club have to inform the NRL of this, which will then enable their current club to make a counter offer to retain that player.

Sounds like a player agent idea to me to artificially inflate the player market

I cannot see a salary cap change as mentioned in the post above.

That would be ridiculous to have players under the cap at only 10% or so of their contract value, as those clubs benefiting from this will stockpile players.

It goes against the reason for bringing in a salary cap, whether one likes it or not.

Big article in the Telegraph apparently. Breaks down the salary cap for each year to the end of 2027 including the rising minimum amount, mentions that layers on your extended list will be eligible to play from round 1 not round 11 going forward . Mentions any player with 11 years service with your club will be assesed at 5% of contract value, 10% if 9 years. Players developed by the club who debut with the club after minimum 2 years in pathways 10 %.. I thought u would be on to this by now mate. Go sniff it out Houndog.

to have all of our starting 3/4s ruled out for the last game was crazy. yeah the 14 number is close to the mark but none of our 3/4s are natural halves and like jfc says there's also murphy to add to the mix. i get that momo's got history with the club but i believe he's on 300k and given that at best he's our 6th best 3/4 that's bad value

                              Mister Ed perhaps

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mister. Ed.
